  1. Good news for UNT. Every dollar Dodge makes somewhere else is one less we have to pay him as better of his buyout.
  2. Let's get the facts straight. RD had size and health concerns coming out of HS. TD ran off Vizza to make room for RD. I never supported the TD hire. We all use screen names, but would say the same thing face to face.
  3. Actually I was thinking about Mattress Mac, but that's a good point to.
  4. But we complain about the millionaires we do have.
  5. Short story; he's a quitter, and his dad is a bum. How's going to play without daddy running off the competition?
  6. I don't think it would be home environment for at any away game. TCU and SMU are both different animals since the last time we played. The good news is June Jones will probably be back on the island before 2014.
  7. To answer the original question...money. We play those games because they have huge payouts and low travel costs. When your playing a game for a payout, you take the biggest payout you can find. All the other OOCs are designed to be home-at-homes.
  8. Don't let the door hit 'ya..... Can we get the guy Daddy ran off back? The Dodge Era was truly the worst in school in history.
  9. Yeah, he's going to go work for dad again, probably at TXST
  10. The correct answer is TCU, SMU, Houston and Rice
  11. If TCU had played UL-Monroe instead of Tenn. Tech, they would have a case for being #2. Oregon played Sac. State and shut them out, TCU let Tenn. Tech scored on them. The point is teams control their OOC, and the "powers that be" should punish teams for playing fcs teams.
  12. It takes 8 schools. The problem is it takes a conference to sponsor an fcs school to move up to FBS, so the Southland can't just declare itself and an FBS conference.
  13. What's to hard to understand? The neighborhood doesn't want the stadium over there, they aren't going to agree to anything. Their I-35 alternative isn't feasible. This just a NIMBY issue.
  14. I like TCU and all, but they don't deserve any part of the national title. The national title is for the winner of the #1 vs. #2 BCS championship game. If TCU wanted to be #1 or #2 they shouldn't have scheduled an fcs team, when they play in a weaker conference.
  15. That's nice but we have bills to pay and were not scared to play the big boys. Since the "powers that be" don't punish teams for playing d1aa/fcs in the rankings the AQ conferences can ignore this threat. The better approach would be some sort of home at home arrangement including 2 for 1's or hold out for $1 million dollar payouts.
  16. The Pay the Players argument is tired. 1. Players are compensated through their free education. 2. Even on a business model level who have to take into account the "other" costs. Their not just a football team, their an athletic department of a a University.
  17. 2-0 in bowl games. Yeah, I'd say the Belt's perception in changing.
  18. Proximity and media market access.
  19. UTSA would be a nice number 12 for the SBC.
  20. How do you embed videos? My link
  21. Crabcakes and douschebags
  22. That's not correct. The NCAA sets a minimum payout for bowls ($750k), but there is some flexibility when it comes to ticket package. Teams can take a lower cash payout in exchange for not having to buy as many tickets/hotel stays. So back to the original question did the bowl switch conference affiliations this year?
  23. Why is Ohio in the game? Aren't the bowl tie-ins between the SBC and CUSA.
  24. Bowl realignment follows conference realignment. I still can't imagine anyone would want to go to Boise for a bowl.
  25. 6-6 is top three in the Belt. And I think that's realistic for next year.
