  1. Does anybody know when the new Mean Green Nike apparel will be available? I was on campus yesterday and noticed the bookstore is still pushing kelly green under armour merchandise at full price.
  2. I don't think the coaching staff cares about the amount of threads on this site. I also don't the majority of posters care about the number of threads on this board during off season.
  3. So I'm noting being voted homecoming king?
  4. Hope you like bag fees. Spirit even charges to carry on bags.
  5. The only mystery is why someone would want to join the WAC. Utah State and San Jose are lobbying to get out. The teams they keep asking to join have repeatedly said no thanks. Who wants to be the third choice in a conference with 1 bowl tie in and is still at risk of breaking out.
  6. If our scouts are using this board to find recruits...
  7. I liked his stake holder vs stock holder analogy, but what academic institution recovers its capital costs?
  8. How does the Denton Convention & Visitors Bureau buying a sponsorship impress the MWC?
  9. I wished the MWC would have killed the WAC, then the SBC could have gone to 12 with LA Tech and UTSA. But here's what the MWC holding off on expansion tell me. 1. They want to see how their new alignment works out. 2. They can always expand later; Utah State, San Jose State, and Idaho made it clear they would jump if asked. 3. The MWC doesn't want to add chumps 4. The door is still open for the MWC to take a CUSA team to open up a spot for us. The longer they wait, the more time we have to get our act together.
  10. Kraig Williams of the Deseret News should be fired. In a effort to be first he ran with a story that wasn't true. It looks like the BYU beat writer was right all along, the MWC wants to see how its new line up shakes out and then if needs to add two team in a year or two.
  11. Informed by whom? I heard Notre Dame was joining the Belt.
  12. That's how I feel about your realignment theory too. The correct answer is: SBC East: FAU, FIU, MTSU, WKY, Troy, USA SBC West: UNT, Ark St, UL-M, UL-L, LA Tech, and UTSAor NMSU
  13. The article also says the news will be official in 24-48 hours. Utah State is in.
  14. http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700103655/Utah-State-may-be-joining-MWC.html
  15. Yawn. 4 bowls and 2 NCAA berths is an embarrassment? UNT isn't in the MWC foot print. We're not getting passed over. Passed over would be adding Arkansas State or UTSA.
  16. Let's be honest, UNT is not MWC's top target. The MWC is debating if it wants to expand. If it does it wants Utah State, UTEP, Houston, SMU, San Jose Sate, and UNT (in that order). The best case scenario for UNT to for a spot in CUSA to open up, since that doesn't look like its going to happen we need to decided if we want the Sun Belt to expand to 12 adding LA Tech and either New Mexico State or UTSA.
  17. 2010 was the worst season for the Belt since 2001. On the upside the SBC had 3 teams in bowls, with 2 wins and no horrible fcs losses.
  18. San Jose State would be the MWC's 5th choice. #1 is Utah State, #2 is UTEP, #3 Houston, #4 SMU. Houston and SMU aren't going to give up a comfortable divisional schedule for the MWC. So to answer the thread original question what would happen if all the CUSA schools stayed put and the MWC took two teams from the WAC? The WAC would die and the SBC would add LA Tech and one from the grouping of NMSU/UTSA/TXST to get to 12.
  19. The MWC wants to see how its new line up shakes out, then it will look at Utah State and UTEP. Does anyone have an article from a real newspaper that says otherwise.
  20. It's true, being to small and frail fro D1/FBS was out of his control. But he did have something to do with daddy running off the competition. All Dodges are dead to me, move on.
  21. No, the first criteria is money. The guaranteed savings of lower travel costs (of CUSA or a 12 team SBC) out weighs the risk-reward of being in in a conference with higher travel costs and the occasional shot at some BCS cash (like the MWC or WAC).
  22. For UNT CUSA beats the MWC every time. The travel savings for having 4 schools within 5 hours drive time is the key. But since we don't have an invite from either conference I don't see how this thread got to 4 pages.
  23. Why do we care about the records before 2001, the first real season of Sun Belt football?
  24. And we should say no again. Both UNT and LA Tech are waiting to see if a spot opens up in CUSA.
  25. I have it on high authority that the MWC is going to wait a season see how they feel about the new alignment and if they want to expand add Utah State and UTEP. My source is the article from the guy who broke the BYU story that I posted weeks ago. UNT and UTSA have great market access, but don't "bring the market" in the terms of ratings. Plumm and I had a lovely discussion about that topic a few weeks ago as well.
