  1. So DD kept RF for continuity?
  2. We now know why its been so quiet of the "Big East" 12th team/Tulsa talk. The soon to be former "Big East" football schools didn't want to split the $100 million pie more ways.
  3. Schools don't spend millions of dollars to get away from other schools. They spend millions of dollars to join certain schools. The CUSA map has a hole in South Carolina Georgia, and Arkansas. If Tulsa leaves you would add Oklahoma to that list. It would be in the conference's best interest to find the school that brings the biggest market share to the confernce. fcs or Sun Belt doesn't matter. It's all about footprint and market share.
  4. The Jungle room at the Fantasy Suites off Teasley.
  5. I want to play in that conference.
  6. Neither of teams would grow the CUSA market. I'd rather CUSA take Georgia State for the market potential.
  7. CUSA just needs one BCS buster and everyone will be full members (like Boise did for the WAC). The difference is CUSA is propped up on a unequal distribution formula like the WAC does.
  8. You can't speak for any school. You're a clown on a message board. The Big East is the big loser in realignment; they saw their value drop and founding members leave. We now know the market value of the Gang of Five $1.8 million.
  9. The Big 12 would take any ACC school, I don't think that's really news. But no ACC school is going anywhere until they see how the Maryland $20 million dollar exit fee is resolved. And that's why the Big 12 is asking for a title game without having to add new members.
  10. Football is team sport right? 85 scholarship players? So no, no team is one player away from anything.
  11. To be fair in the bashing of CFN I am a moderator for their boards and I think their full of it 3/4 of the time.
  12. Mac has more wins in two season than Dodge had in four. Like I said, every indicator says were moving in the right direction. Sorry its not fast enough for such great "fans."
  13. A lot of whining on this thread. The school takes steps to move away from the 2 body bag game format and our "fans" bitch." 1 & dones are going for as much as $900,000 (that's what Texas paid FAU a few seasons ago) and our "fans" bitch about paying half price. We get to open our season at home instead of a road game blow out and our "fans" bitch. We upgrade conferences and have a better slate of teams comming to our stadium yet our "fans" bitch about the number of home games. Every indicator says this program is moving in the right direction, yet our "fans" bitch.
  14. If Tulsa leaves... And the replacement is in the East, I say add a team that brings a bigger market and can add some value to the CUSA tv deal. So I'd take a GA St over WKY. When people blather about WKY basketball I wonder why it never resulted in the Sun Belt getting extra bids to the NCAA tourney? If the replacement is in the West I want to see a team in the western division footprint; TXST, Lala, maybe even Arky St.
  15. Another way to look at the CFN pre-season, spring prediction is... There are only two guaranteed wins on the schedule (Idaho, UTSA), and there is only one guaranteed loss (GA) everything else is going to be a fight. But isn't that want you want as a fan? Don't you want to see your team come out ahead in these 50/50 games?
  16. So if your not #1 you should quit. Afterall you have an obligation to put all your eggs in one basket.
  17. If we're going back 10 years recruiting wasn't the problem. Not upgrading the coaching staff was Dickey's downfall.
  18. Ummm... how is paying half a payout a large guarantee? Anything under $500,000 for a 1 & done is a bargin in today's college football market.
  19. Wow, another winning takes care of everything post. Tulsa has to decide between a divison of... CUSA: UTEP, UNT, UTSA, Rice, LA Tech, & S Miss Big East: SMU, Houston, Tulane, Memphis, UCF
  20. With the Big East value dropping Tulsa can afford to wait and see what the new CUSA deal is going to be before they make thier move. The article says the 12th spot in the Big East is between Tulsa and UMass. I still think Army would make sense.
  21. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8932681/sources-big-east-catholic-7-close-reaching-media-rights-deals ESPN says the Big East tv deal is down to $2 million per year per school. Maybe Tulsa won't jump after all.
  22. Back to the orginal point of this thread, next year' s predictions. I think expectations are being skewed by the belief that it's Mac's time to deliver and by CUSA down year last year. The new CUSA schedule is great because there is no easy wins, but no completely impossible games. I'm hoping for 6-6 & a bowl Idaho = Win Ohio & Ball = A good year would be splitting for 1 win GA = Loss (They're a playoff team) Tulane = Win (glad we have the bye week before this game and Tulane has 3 road games before this) MTSU = Toss Up (glad we have them at home) LA Tech = Loss (maybe we catch'em off with the new coach) S Miss = Win (third coach in 3 years) Rice = Loss (they won their bowl, give them some respect) UTEP = Win (new coach and we're at home) UTSA = Win (glad we have the bye the week before and are at home) Tulsa = Loss (they are going to win CUSA next year & hopefully bust the BCS)
  23. Should we transfer this to the Missouri forum?
  24. This is a non-argument no matter who orginally made it. Why so many Dodge players....because they are upper classmen. A 21 year old should beat out an 18 year old. Because a player with three years under an offenisve coordinator should beat out a kid from high school where we played with maybe one or two other guys that could make a D1 team. I understand wanting to win and wanting to win now. I also understand how bad the Dodge hire was. There is no amount of revisionist history that will take away the fact that DODGE WAS THE WORST COACH IN SCHOOL HISTORY. CFN has UNT picked 6th in CUSA, a head of UTSA. If Mac does anything better, its progress.
  25. It takes 4 years to recover from the hole Dodge put the program in. An outlier doesn't dispute the norm, when you start from the bottom it takes longer to turn it around. CFN does a 3-year rankings of teams, which of those teams went from the bottom 10 to back to back bowl games?
