  1. I saw that he had his own named tattooed on his leg. I think their holding him out for poor life choices.
  2. Yes, but there is no way to know until we see the season play out. There is a ver real chance that this game sets the tone for the season. Another big win over LA Tech would be huge for recruiting.
  3. The beer lines were too long and beer wasn't cold enough. Also it was hot.
  4. Fib. No one has inside info within 4 hours of the game.
  5. We, the fan base control these payday games. More season ticket sales, more donations, more sell outs. That's how fans take control of the schedule.
  6. There had to be some positives.
  7. What was that number Parcell's gave us for a quarterback? I know I left it around here.
  8. There seems to be two very different ideas on this thread. A fan float and some sort of official float. I think its an absolutely pipe dream to get the cheerleaders, and trophy. In short, you're wasting your time posting about the official float. Floats don't have to be anything special for this parade. I've seen people tow boats and call it a float. It more about getting folks to split the entry cost.
  9. Let's bump this thread back up and see if there are any takers. Anyone want to put a float together for the St. Patty's Parade?
  10. We actually won their president as part of the bet.
  11. Based on Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA) website application for last year: The Greenville St. Patrick's Day Parade should be Saturday, March 15th. The deadline to sign up for the parade should be February 25th. The entry fee is $500 for non-profits, $1,000 for everyone else. $200 for a second float.
  12. This is a great idea. We have annual threads about things we can do as fans to market the team and this is the best idea I've seen yet. Low cost, easy to do, and it involves tailgating. Couple of thoughts. This could be a fund raiser of GMG.com, assumming Harry and Co. want to do this. Management Team (GMG.com): signs up for the float spot, sets up registration/donation paypal style account. Construction Team (Volunteers): truck to pull the float, the float, decorates the float, transports the float to the parade. Riding Team (Paid members): Pays $50* per rider to cover float construction costs, throws/give-a-ways, and GMG.com banner. *construction team members can be given a rider discount. Donations (anyone): As part of the registration/donation system folks should be able to donate funds to help defer cost and increase the number of throws/give-a-ways. I'm down to help build, ride, and donate. So PM me to get this started.
  13. Does anyone know (or know where to find out) the bowl policy on when kids need their own tickets. I figured kids 2 & under are free, but want to double check.
  14. I wanted to see what ticket options are out there for the bowl game. So far I've seen through the school: $75 adult tickets, with $20 parking $25 student tickets Have they announced any additional ticket options, group tickets, etc. I want to do my part and support the school, buy I'm not really interested in buying 8 full priced tickets.
  15. Those numbers are bunk. Most bowls are the NCAA minimum. A millon dollar bowl is more like 750k payout with a combination of ticket sales. That's why its important to buy your tickets through the University. To attend the bowl the school agrees to buy a ticket allotment, that it in turns sells.to boosters & students.
  16. No they shouldn't have. Maybe you missed the news about the new bowls; Miami-beach, Boca Raton, and Bahamas. Markets matter.
  17. Yes. The SEC champ the winner of the #3 vs. #5 match up should be in the championship, but too many ESPN analyst went to Ohio State. I would love to see Michigan State win and set up Ohio State vs Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
  18. For the record I'm a fan of that Big Red blobby, mascot thing they have, but I will not be going to WKU.
  19. I remember reading somewhere that CUSA picks up the travel tab for the bowl games before equal payouts to the rest of the conference. Also there is some kind of incentive for teams to sell their ticket allotments through their own offices.
  20. NIU's loss means... Two Big 12, PAC 12, and Two Big Ten teams, in BCS Bowls. Championship - FSU vs Ohio St Rose - Mich St vs Stanford Sugar - SEC Champ vs Baylor Fiesta - OkSt vs. Az State Orange - UCF vs Alabama The bowl trickle down will guarantee a bowl swap with the ESPN bowls.
  21. I did and I reported them. Venting should be limited to things that happened in the game, poor sportsmanship and attacks on the other fanbase don't have any place on our message board.
  22. Let's just end this thread here. Trud is correct and the intent of this post was to draw attention to the poor sports on this board and clam things down.
  23. That's not how the tie-breakers work. If all the conference records are tied, you look to divisional records and rankings which would favor Rice.
  24. We aren't technically eliminated, but I don't see how UNT makes it to the championship game. Rice is clearly in the drivers seat in CUSA West, if they win their in the championship game. We could also end up in a 3-way tie if Tulane & UNT win next week. In that scenario Tulane probably goes to the championship because of their division record. We could also end up in a 4-way tie if Tulane, UNT, and UTSA win next week. In that scenario Rice might be the team of overall ranking. As far as bowls go. Tulane is looking at Liberty or the New Orleans Bowl. If Tulane isn't committed to the Liberty, the NO Bowl is going to select them. Home team in their first bowl in 12 years will sell tickets. Rice has the most bowl options with the Liberty, Heart of Dallas, New Orleans, Hawaii or maybe even the Texas bowl. UNT is looking at Heart of Dallas or Hawaii. New Orleans only if Tulane wins the conference and Heart of Dallas takes Rice.
