  1. There's nothing wrong with our schedule. Y'all complain too much. Don't want to play a payday game, donate a million bucks a year. Anything less STFU. I don't like FBS vs fcs games, period. But if everyone else is going pad their schedule. Our OOC schedule is in the business of peeping us for conference play and paying the bills.
  2. We had this thread last year and here were the problems; 1. We the GMG message board dorks can't make the school do anything, so it's an unofficial event. 2. The cost to enter a float was close to $1000 3. We the GMB message board dorks don't actually do anything other than bitch. My offer still stand to pitch in $100 and help build a float.
  3. I wouldn't have included 2/3rds of the list. There's a pretty big difference between 4/5 (80%) and 2/3 (66%) which a lot of that list was. 2 out of 3 years is doable and should be our goal. My expectations are 1 out 3 years because it's realustic and achievable. But as much fun as debating statistics with is, the question remains ... What are your expectations for the program?
  4. This is a myth. There are a couple of outliers like Boise that can reload, but that's the exception. Southern Miss used to be one of those re-load teams. What mid-major has gone to a bowl 9 out of 10 seasons? How about 4 out of 5 seasons? These consistent winners might make it to a bowl 2 out of 3 seasons, but weren't not there yet. Which is why I expect 1 bowl every 3 seasons.
  5. Sometimes we're a tough team to root for, but overall we're headed in the right direction. The Athletic Program is accomplishing its goals... Paid the note on Fouts Completed Sports Master Plan Started the athletic campus Built the new Stadium Baseball The problem is that the slow growth model is slow. This season confirmed what we already knew, you can't just re-load at UNT. You can't really re-load at any mid-major school. The challenge now is to not slip up with a rebuilding season on its way. All I really expect is that the team make it to a bowl once out of every three years.
  6. It wasn't embarrassing, it just wasn't much of anything. We knew early on that this wasn't a bowl team.
  7. Let's try to funnel the tidal wave of hate into one big thread. I'll start. QB Play.
  8. You had sugar plum fantasies about a team that didn't have a quarterback and now the guy is falling. Grow up, and stop making rape jokes.
  9. My brother is a yellow jacket... Wait what are we bragging about?
  10. I thought uniform and helmet threads were reserved for off season.
  11. Scrappy was AWOL in the second half. I got little kids that want to see that bird. Ticket screening was over zealous. When my hands are full of concessions and I'm juggling a baby and a toddler, don't ask to see my kids tickets.
  12. Why is this thread still going? There are several new marketing efforts underway; Social media, Discover Denton, Game Day DTCA, Game Day Shuttle. There's is clearly a new marketing strategy. I'm sorry if your not the demographic they are going after. We are complaining jus to complain, because it was loss.
  13. Little late getting this thread up, in part because there was less to complain about. The music selection between plays got worse. Quit playing music not from this century. Just play top 20 sound bites from the last two years and let the kids dance.
  14. Usually rated? For a conference that's only been around for year.
  15. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11489258/ncaa-drops-postseason-ban-penn-state-nittany-lions I think the NCAA lifted Penn State's post-season ban early because the Big Ten is at risk of not filling all its bowl slots. The Big Ten will not have a team in the Playoff and won't have a team at the Rose Bowl. They probably would have lifted the bowl ban at the same season they restored the scholarships, but they had to do something about this season.
  16. A&M underpays, which is why they end up with so many d2/fcs games.
  17. Are you sure they weren't on the field? It sure looked like we were playing a youth football team from University Park.
  18. Does anyone have the final number?
  19. No, the lines were long because demand was high and they only sold at a few concessions stand. And I did see any kids working at the beer concessions on my 3 trips to get beer.
  20. Past, that what the aluminum beer cans are.
  21. yes, the mark up on water is higher than beer. But that's true everywhere.
  22. This is an actual complaint that should be pointed out to the higher ups. The program didn't include the Heart of Dallas Bowl win. It seemed odd they had the season record correct, but didn't list the bowl.
  23. I reject this complaint. An cup of water is an extra outside of the bottle of water, thus an up charge is appropriate.
  24. Yep, ton of social media in the last 48 hours. Mean Green Sports and the new Discover Denton campaign. Oh yeah, they also had the DCTA promotion, the new game day shuttle, and the park at the square program.
