NC State over UNC Bowl Slots: 14 Bubble Teams: 15 Magic Number. Wins - 1 & Losses - 1 or Losses - 8
-
I spent way too much time planning fictional realignment
shaft replied to Caw Caw's topic in Mean Green Football
There are 12 teams in the State of Texas, what more do you need. Lone: UT, ATM, Houston, Rice, TxSt, UTSA Star: Baylor, TTech, TCU, SMU, UNT, UTEP -
The APR Bubble Teams magic numbers. (Losses needed to the group of 16 bubble teams over the next two weeks). Northwestern - 5, Vandy - 6, Army - 7, UNT - 8
-
Option 1: The Magic Number is 2. UNT win and a UTSA or USM loss guarantee a bowl slot. Option 2: The Magic Number 8. Eight loses from the bowl bubble group this week guarantees we get in on APR. The real number is 5, but 3 teams have games next week.

The worst case scenario is all of the 16 teams contending the 15 slots win and there are 81 bowl eligible teams, and we are the 7th CUSA bowl team. I just don't see Army over Navy, Vandy over Tenn, NC State over North Carolina, or Southern Miss over LA Tech.

Akron loses, Miami-Ohio wins. 65 bowl slots filled, 16 teams still in the hunt for 15 remaining slots. Magic Number is 2

1. Uniform talk should be reserved for off season. 2. No they don't.

Let's see if I have this right. There are 80 bowl slots, 64 are filled. There are 18 teams in the hunt for the 16 remaining bowl slots. So there are two ways for us to make it to a Bowl game. Option 1: Beat UTEP and a have two teams from the group below lose. Option 2: Get on APR and have three of teams from the group below lose. Games to watch American (1): Navy @ SMU , ACC (2): NC State @ North Carolina, Boston College @ Wake Forest Big Ten (3): Purdue @ Indiana, Rutgers @ Maryland, ILL@ Northwestern Big 12 (2): TCU* @ Texas Conference USA (3):Char @ UTSA, North Texas @ UTEP, LA Tech @ USM Independent (1): Army @ Navy MAC (2): Ball State @ Miami (OH), Akron @ Ohio Mountain West (0): Pac-12 (1): Arizona St. @ Arizona SEC (2): Tenn @ Vanderbilt, Miss State @ Ole Miss Sun Belt (1): USA* @ Idaho * Have one more week of games

Teams don't really "pick" their bowls. The conference, bowl, and network have a big say in the selection/invitation process. There is a reason the bowl reps visit different teams throughout the season. Conferences change up their bowl slots all the time to create better match ups and prevent bowl burnout of the same team going to the same bowl year after year. Also the question was asked is it better to go 5-7 to go to a non-CUSA bowl. No, the bowls and conference will trade bowl slots with each other base on input of the teams, bowls, and networks.

Why is this on UNT football board?
-
No one says a bowl game fixes everything, just ask Mac. But can we all agree making it to a bowl is better than not making to a bowl game. And why does everyone keep talking about the Big 12? The B12 will only have 7 bowl eligible slots. The Heart of Dallas Bowl has a Big Ten tie-in.

Anyone know when 2017 Season Ticket packages will go on sale. I remember in years past there were family four packs on sale around Christmas.

Que? Where was a lot of marketing for this game. I've been seeing social media and digital billboard ads for the game for two weeks.

That was more than chilly, it was cold. It was freeze warning cold. If the game had started at 6 p.m. we would have a few dozen tops by the end of the game.

Early Littrell Watch Worry

I think Coach Bro has one or two more seasons at Texas Tech and why wouldn't Tulsa take Graham back? -
First, I think we are going to get to 6 next week. So I think we're looking at Heart of Dallas, ABQ, or the New Orleans Bowl.

Because inquiring minds want to know, I took the shuttle from the square. Still have to hike the stupid bridge, and the shuttle drivers are clueless (one was from Arlington, the other was a not so good with the English) but overall not too bad. I would have bought golf cart raffle tickets for a lift.

I don't buy this one, but..... Heart of Dallas. UNT vs Army http://collegefootballnews.com/2016/college-football-playoff-bowl-projections-after-week-12

Let's say one is feeling lazy and doesn't want to walk. Where is the closest place to park and pay cash? Asking for a friend, because I'm totally jacked and stuff.

I like how Rick keeps making weaker and weaker arguments...more time to research recruits. Next thing you know he'll be trying to sell us on "stealth recruiting." Bowl game > staying home
