Yes, that is bogus, but you have to understand that this is not just a sport it is a business as well. The university will support whatever athlete that is under scholarship until their time has come and then they are on their own. If I am correct, I believe that scholarships are not 5 year commitments anymore, they are year by year. Coaches have the right to evaluate each player on scholarship at the end of every year to justify whether they have the motivation in not just athletics but academics as well to continue to represent the university as well as the team. Its a hard lesson to learn, but I believe the guys are mature enough to understand.

I think what we have seen in the last four games is exactly what we are going to see all season. A lot of you have compared UNT to Oklahoma and to go along with that is that the opposing teams that play UNT and Oklahoma are doing the same thing. Line 7 to 8 guys up in the box and dedicate your game plan to stopping the run. Make a young, inexperienced QB throw to receivers with limited talent and cover them one on one in the secondary. The OC can be as creative as any OC in America, but with what UNT has it will not work. Two top rated running backs, inexperienced QB, one good receiver and a young line along with a young defense. This is what the coaches have to work with. Don't think for a minute that this team has given up, because they haven't. It is frustrating to have success for so long and fall flat, but the players and coaches will continue to give 100% on the field.

i have to agree with (gak) on this one too. I have never cared for the North Texas script on the helments. I think we need a logo instead script. We got away with it (logos) for years and it appears that the flying worm is a classic logo. I would like to see the eagle logo on the helments. It just looks more like a football helment. Whatever we do I would like to see us go with a logo and make it permenant instead of changing it every five or six years. I think this is a big reason why people don't recognize us when they see us on tv. Because, we have continuously changed our logos and have not stuck with a steady logo.
