  1. One question addressed last night, that needs to pressed on the board and in the community is what can we do get more fans/supports/etc in the room. We should brainstorm ideas that gets donors to more events and soon to be donors or other season ticket holders. I was suspired to find out the stadium is on track to break ground in January. After the meeting I spoke with some Alumni fans I have in Houston, they were surprised to hear the good news as well. Maybe one thing we can do is encourage more public feedback/information from the AD department. They mentioned the North Texan, maybe a page should in the magazine could be dedicated to stadium news, football news, and event schedules. This way our fans outside the DFW area do not have to find out dated article postings on the board. More importantly for all the big donors out there, you know who you are. Open up to the new guys. When you see a new face at the meeting introduce yourself. When all the regulars stand in a corner and all the new faces stand in a corner, next week the regulars will be in the same corner and the new faces will be gone. Lets to better at meeting new people and potential mean green donors.
  2. We should keep our non-conf games in the midwest anyways. The Texas, OU, Tulsa, KSU, Iowa's are a lot better than this Alabama and Georgia nonsense. To bad these games seem to be forever and a day away.
  3. Back to what this post is addressing. You can find me at the Pourhouse anytime. Great food and thanks for keeping this board alive, sometimes we actually have good topics!!
  4. Least they turned the stadium lights out this year. But I guess it did make the fire easier to spot
  5. The DII schools and DIII will hurt more than the big schools. If the average miles traveled for big schools is around 7000, some of these smaller schools can break 12,000. I know a DIII school in colorado, has already shut the door on football for the 2009 season.
  6. Everyone be Safe. Happy 4th its great to live in a country were we can talk sports 24/7!!!
  7. The Ball State and Alabama game will prevent us from having a 2600+ season. We may be right at 2500, but I have to go under on this one. Not to mention this season we may have a better ground attack that could take yards away from Dodge. But on the other hand if we throw the ball down field instead of to the sideline we may have a 3000+ season.
  8. I think by now if we don't launch the stadium in 2011 we may fall victim to lower ticket sales and athletic support. We end up needing an extra home to help cover expenses, or give up our band and cheerleaders.
  9. Ball Control. I think the coaches know by now if we don't run the ball, the score might be 70-6 in the fourth.
  10. When they did Tennessee there was not any mention of MSTU. Also when they did Arkansas, no mention of Arkansas State. But maybe with Texas on a today schedule we could get viewing.
  11. I think we need to ask ourselves what is UNT's attendance? Should we look for attendance records if its the away team who is brining in the fans. I know we cannot track that figure, but even if the Army game is sold out this year, and majority is for Army, is that a win for UNT?
  12. This article touches on a great topic. What is going to happen to the smaller schools such as BSU who are looking for a payday, yet bigger schools will not play them in fear of an earlier season loss? A) Is this maybe why UNT got so much money from GA, because GA wants to ensure a season warmup? Will we start seeing state or border state earlier season battles? Example, will we see less UNT at GA and More UNT at SMU?
  13. Will UTSA Coker be the the next Schnellenberger of FAU? Also is Coker and Schenllen... setting the trend for head coaches past their prime to get back into coaching? Will we see Holtz giving his weekend pep talk in the locker room instead of on ESPN????
  14. Was that game in England? I thought we would have heard more about it. I guess streaking is not what it used to be.
  15. I thought Arizona State produced better talent?
  16. Any coach who follows Stoops jackass way of coaching is an idiot. When something bad happens to his team he whines. When something happens to another team he always says, "Well I don't see the big deal." OU never needs to rebuild, they need to win a game that matters, and every team OU plays in January is never going to let that happen. Follow Meyer, at least two of your fingers will be covered by championship band.
  17. I say no attendance records until 2011...
  18. This article is funny. I saw another just like it that had UNT ranked number 10 for best uniforms because they looked like boogers. Weird.
  19. With an improved D, I don't see a blowout. Right?
  20. How did New Mexico State or Idaho pass us? I understand the 4 win situation, but come on label UNT the worst team, thats a bit much. Without recapping the season, this article is a joke.
  21. Is it to late to get a wallpaper with the stadium or other background?
  22. At least he got to make an announcement stating we are going to a bowl. I sure would like if he did it this year.
  23. Great idea! Lets also have raffles to meet the band(s). That might help pay for the event and other charges. Or if your football ticket was scanned before 7pm you have the option to move to the field and get up close to the stage. Give more incentive for those who watch the game.
  24. Where is your UNT flag hanging? Mine recently suffered wind damage on Wednesday.
  25. Heres my question. Does it make since to recruit in areas where other Texas schools are highly visible? Are there untapped areas of Texas that maybe UNT could be dominating? Lets face it Texas is a big state, and we see a lot of players from I-35 East. Where are all the West Texas players going? I know they are not being picked up by NMSU, but maybe UTEP or New Mexico knows something we don't.
