Love the McNair pickup. With that said, yes recruiting is an in-exact science. However, there is a general consensus that separates an unranked/1 or 2 star (does 1 star even exist anymore?) from your 3-5 star athletes. Sure, there will be diamonds in the rough and highly overrated players, but your chances of getting a key contributor go up. It's like drafting a player in the 1st round vs the 6th round. The probability of getting an elite player goes up in the higher rounds. How many recruiting battles are Mac & Co winning for 3+ star recruits? Programs like Boise, surely have a roster full of these type of guys....

Playing time to showcase your talent & a potential scholarship are motivating factors, without question. Some bigger schools have a logjam of talent at positions. Your child may not get to see the field much at his current 6A school. But he's good enough to crack the starting lineup at a smaller school. I knew a guy who transferred due to wanting to play LBer his JR & SR years in high school (5A at the time). He was the starting weakside defensive end and his father thought his best chance for a D1 scholarship would be to move to LBer. There were several very good players that had those positions locked down so he transferred to a local 4A school and started @ LBer. Let's just say it worked out because he ended up getting a D1 scholarship to a Big Ten school and was later taken in the 4th round of the NFL draft.

If NT can't go 2-2 in this OOC schedule, a 10 loss season is a very real possibility.

High schools copy pro & college teams all the time. Not a big deal, IMO.

The new helmet will look great with the black HoD uniforms. I fully expect to see them used this year.

That's my biggest beef. Show them in different color combos with both helmets on. Why is this so hard? The best pic I've seen of the full whites is washed out as hell.

I'm thinking we'll see NT -3 after Baylor lays 65 on them.

Photos can't replicate the sheen given when natural light hits the fabric. They will look even better on the field. Love the new black & metallic green helmets options. Previous green uniforms were just too plain. These are 100 times better. New black helmets, white jerseys, & green pants will look freakin' great next to a 45-0 ass kicking of SMWho.

Look great! Love the metallic green helmets. I wish they'd go with the black mask to compliment the new black sow outline. It's definitely a better look than last year.

I think most here get butt hurt if the uniforms don't look like 1920's UT or OU. Leather helmets, no facemasks, and have the team run onto the field playing JailHouse Rock will be the only way to please them.

I hated the Dodge era SLC unis. These look nothing like them. I love the black helmets. I guess the arm stripes are hit or miss with some, but I like the overall look.

Badass!! I love them! Best uniform NT's had in my years of fandom. Love the black helmets & black piping. Well, the HoD uniforms are probably slightly better but they also have a nice bowl win behind them. Still love these. Now, let's keep these and slap a good ol' habit of winning on them. Someone minused 1 because I like them? WTF??

Anything that gives CUSA positive publicity is a good thing. Hopefully, she has a fire in her to fight with those P5 guys.

TTG pretty much got it right, IMO. At this point these are all his guys, his staff, his recruits, his program. It's put up or shut up time for Mac and he has 2 seasons to show me something. No matter what side of the Mean Green fan spectrum you're on, KRAM's or UNT90's, you can't deny this season is looking to be Mac's most challenging of his tenure.

I fully expect this team to win at least 3 games. We won't have to worry about an 0-12 season. However, Mac will be back regardless of this seasons outcome. 2-10, 5-7, it wont matter....
