Smith & Greer were warming up when rice was inside the 10yd line & threatening to score. After a 4th & 1 stop I saw DSmith strapping his helmet on and heading onto the field like he was going out. Then for some reason McNulty went back out. He did throw a 90yd pass for a TD after but it was garbage time by that point, IMO. I did see Greer throwing and strapped up, too. So I'm not sure who would've gone out after the 4th down stop: Smith or Greer.

So after the Iowa body bag game, are we going to see any changes?

He wasnt the reason today, agreed. Still doesn't mean he's below average. It's a young season, I suspect we'll have the seesaw effect all year long with him at the helm.

It would've mattered last week for sure. It was 38-10 in the 4th today with miscues in all phases, so who knows. This team's road performance is abysmal, so I expect to see a repeat of last week, next week.

This team definitely plays better at home, even though it was 38-10 in the 4th. The faux comeback today made it a little easier to stomach. The road games have been just god awful.

I'm on the 1st row in section 106. My son was with me in his mean green jersey. I had a tan shirt & shorts, meangreen hat. i did leave right after that 4th down throw, too.

Garbage time stats. Of course, it did get interesting at the end. And what happened when he needed to make critical throws on the last drive??? Damn near had a pick six on the visitor sideline, then a dropped pick in the middle of the field.

Garbage time TD doesn't mean a whole helluva a lot. The 3 and out early in the 3rd is where we needed him to make a play and he had 2 bad throws.

McNulty had a decent throw on the TD but all of his passes are the corners. Quick slants, 5 yard stop. Rice adjusted this half and had 3 guys there on that pick. Bad theow by MiniMac. They are covering the outside and forcing him to play the middle. That's why McNulty had the QB sneak up the middle wide open. Can he throw the intermediate route between the seams??? I guess we'll see....

Vito could've saved himself some time and answered the questions himself using very generic coach speak and it would've come out exactly the same...

It's a head scratcher that the past 35 years have been less than mediocre for football. However, there is one thing I do know and that's there is NO excuse for failing to win at UNT now. Better facilities, "better" conference, & better TV exposure for all FBS schools should yield something better than 1 winning season in the last 5.

He is not the entire problem, but he's an obvious problem. It also hurts that he plays the position that most affects the offense. So, a change there would surely affect the offense...

We've been molded that way. What other fanbase has gotten kicked in the nuts longer than North Texas fans?

This is definitely the way I prefer to lose. Saves me a lot of grief and a chance to use 3 hours elsewhere.

We're playing with a piranha on this subject matter, my friend, but I'm right there with you. I've always been in the camp of a certain QB not getting any FBS offers had it not been for a certain HC getting the job in Denton. Of course, I'm sure at the time this particular coach thought it wouldn't be an issue as he would be able to recruit "better" QB's, thus burying his friends kid into the depth chart of obscurity. Funny how bad decisions can turn around and bite you in the gluteus maximus.

I woke up with a positive vibe today. No doubt, I have a good feeling about Sat and will make my prediction: Defense does well for 3 qtrs but runs out of gas. Special teams is solid again. Rice - 52 UNT - 17 Coaches watch another bad offensive performance and decide to make some changes. We see a new QB in the 4th qtr and a ray of hope overcomes the NT crowd. Week 4 becomes a happy week!

You recruited this guy for a reason. You obviously think the QB position is lacking. An athlete of this caliber comes here obviously because he was given a promise at "earning" the starting position. What am I missing?
