Defenses are blitzing Smith heavily it seems because they know he's green. The offensive line missed a couple of stunts vs Marshall that didn't help either. Also, I saw JWilson get mollywhopped by the MLB on a 3rd down blitz pickup. It was ugly and caused a sack (if I remember correctly). I'm expecting UTSA to take a page from Marshall's plan and show us a repeat of what we saw yesterday. The Offensive unit needs to figure this thing out quick if they want to keep drives alive vs the Roadrunners...

I don't think DaMarcus is a pure passing spread QB. He's got a rocket arm that could kill defenses on playaction. Cut out the empty backfield plays, focus on running Wilson, Spread Option runs, zone read plays, and lots of playaction. Utilize the bootleg/waggle and grant him the option to tuck it and run if his primary receiver isn't open.

He is an elite player and the best player on offense. If I were Chico, I'd ride him hard vs UTSA. 25-30 carries. Heavy emphasis on the run game & zone read, with playaction, and bootleg/waggles giving Demarcus the option to run. Limit the empty backfields and spread passing game.

He's been thrown in midway through a season against 2 of the best teams in CUSA. What did you expect? Like others have said, the UTSA game will give us the best idea of where he sits. I'm definitely looking forward to this game and will be there to see NT get their 1st win.

It's all on Smith now. He's got an amazing opportunity in front of him to be the starter all the way into the end of 2016 season. His job to lose. I'm hoping he can improve every week and have a great base for 2016.

I'm right there with you. Hopefully, Smatresk is taking the bull by the horns and leaving RV holding the shit shovel. RV can then scoop poop for the remainder of his contract.
