I think it's time to take the Herm Edwards approach to jumpstarting such an abyssmal offense. Back when Vinnie T. was still the QB of the Jet's he was benched after consecutive weeks of poor offensive performance. Yes, there was enough blame to go around for everyone but Herm Edwards said it best: "What am I supposed to do? I can't replace the whole team. So I replace the one position that can make a helluva difference on the field; the Quarterback". Well, that may not be the exact quote but it's close enough. What happened after this, you ask? The NY Jets only found their franchise QB of the future make his mark as one of the premier QB's of the NFL. The offense immediately showed signs of life. Pennington went on to lead the Jets to the NFL playoffs. Meager must sit, IMO. He's not the whole issue, but it's a nice place to start.
