Just get to the Athletic Center immediately!! We've lost quite a few key players due to grades the past few seasons!!!! As for Woody's origins, the previous posters hit it on the head. He was recruited as a QB out of High School by Arkansas. Arkansas later decided they wanted him to switch to DB. NT promised him a shot at QB, thus, landing him here. Personally, I think he was a huge pick up for NT. If hell freezes over and DD announces WW the starter, he would have to be the biggest recruit this season.

FAU has a pretty good shot at beating K-State. I'll be rooting for them.

Your first mistake was lsitening to the Ticket. Other than George Dunham, they are all huge Longhorn/Sooner lovers. Many of the guys there come from different schools but suck Longhorn/Sooner balls every chance they get.

Ding Ding Ding!!! You've solved that nagging riddle for me. This helmet is using a very long mask. Jmo's helmet was using the traditional 2-bar RB mask which sits a bit high. That is why it looked wierd to me. Thanks Bryan!! I can rest in peace, now.

Those are the Revolution helmets I was referring to. After thinking about it a little more this morning, many of the North Texas helmets looked like they were fitted with a concussion "crown". Except the crown was part of the helmet. Oh well, this is not an important discussion by any means. I'm just rambling....

Did you see the LaTech vs Nebraska game? SMU vs Tech? Akron vs Pen St? Everyone of these teams got whooped. Is it the end of the season? Absolutely not. Don't man the lifeboats, yet. Make your judgement after SMU. Texas is the defending national champions with an unlimited recruiting budget. NT had no chance. We must be realistic here, people. I'm not a fan of DD's by any means, but the season just started and we do have some very winnable games ahead of us. Wait until SMU, if we lose, I'm right there with you on your current feelings.......

I've been watching college football all day and have solidified my thoughts on this from all the viewing. I first noticed it during the UT game.... Why are NT's helmets so "large" around the upper part of the helmet? These new Revolution helmets are a bit larger but for some reason, the NT helmets look disproportionately larger. I just can't place it my finger quite on it. The other Revo helmets I've seen today are bigger but still maintain the natural helmet "contour". Could it be the facemasks are sitting too high? I've noticed many are still using traditional face masks and probably should switch to a Revo mask. Maybe that's the issue. As you can see, I'm a nitpicker.....

For the noname nincompoop, You must've just tuned into NT football. This team looked MUCH better today than they did 2 years ago in Austin. It's now time to look forward to the Ponies which is a very winnable game.

I'll add another for best: Play at center was heavily improved, IMO. Not sure if Rose started or played most of teh game, but if he did, hats off to the young man.

Lack of depth at RB is sorely obvious. Jmo is an elite runner and makes it look worse, but DD needs to hit the high schools HARD for an heir apparent. I think the OL wasn't too bad. The Center position looked much better than last year. Did Rose start? I'm certain I saw someone else. How long is Quinn scheduled to wear the cast?
