I think the big issues are staying close to home and having a legitimate shot at playing. It's hard to put a value on "potential" but I'm sure if he's as good as recruiting services claim he is, he could be a 3 year starter. He would probably ride the bench at bigger schools. I'm not downing our current LB's in any way, it's just that they are not on equal footing with most of the SEC, Big12, & Big 10 LBers as a whole.

Wow, a very big pickup. Dodge is going beyond what I could've ever expected. Jesus Christ this is mind blowing. Redshirting him to get 5 years out of him may not be a bad idea. He's got good feet, balance, & decent quickness. He looks like he'd be a helluva OT. For an offense that passes 90% of the time, the offensive line will be playing on their heels most of the game. That's very difficult for a lineman. They will need great balance and strength. I can see him adding 40lbs and playing OT.

Defensive End or Defensive Tackle, possibly? Seattle Seahawks 1st round pick DT Marcus Tubbs was a TE coming out of DeSoto High School but was recruited to play DT at Texas. You can NEVER have too much talent on a team. Great pickup!!

That's a little deceiving. I don't think UNT has 1 National Top 100 player. However, the number of State top 100 players are more than enough to call this a helluva recruiting year for us!!!!!!!

Marcus seems to have issues, but Michael has been a decent guy so far in Atlanta. He stirred the pot in Atlanta this year but I don't see it as anything out of the ordinary. However, this situation is really stupid. The guy makes millions of dollars a year, why risk your reputation on a few dollars worth of weed??? I mean, damn, you cant buy it whenever you land in your desitination??? Celebs usually know all the hot spots for drug stuff. I'm not condoning drug use, just cannot fathom what went on in his mind.

MGB makes a good point. I think TD is grabbing the best players available at this point. Even though these players may not be All-World physically, they are familiar with the system TD wants to run. This allows these players to make an instant impact which will definitely help this team compete. Of course, with winning comes better recruits. We have to start somewhere. Also, most of the area Top 100 & State Super Teamers have all been "courted" since the season started by other schools. NT, at this point, does not have the recognition or prestige to steal prospects. Dodge's name alone cannot overcome damage done over the past 2 seasons by the Dickster & the little respect the name Sun Belt garners. I choose to look at it like this: These players are systems guys that fit well into TD's offensive system & have the ability to play early & often in this sytem. A win win situation for NT.
