  1. I guess my dirty little email to moffitt@unt.edu worked.
  2. Would SMU & TCU love to be in our current position??? Hell Yes. Would any of the teams who've just lost in their conference tournaments love to be in our position??? Hell Yes. How many teams in NCAA Division 1 basketball can beat UNC?? You can probably count them all on one hand. So what if NT loses by 30 points or 3 points?? The fact that the Mean Green are in the tournament with a "legitimate" but very, very, very long shot at the whole enchilada is good enough for me. Besides, most teams who have to face any of the top 3 seeds in the tourney will probably lose. So I'd much rather see our guys play on national TV.
  3. I would do the same and place a full sized statue of myself in front the entrance to both stadiums.
  4. Please change your undies at least once before tonights game!!
  5. Hmm The main UNT website has a frontpage article on a students 'American Idol' run. Is the teams NCAA Tournament run just not as important as Simon freakin' Cowell???? And yes I sent an email voicing my displeasure to moffitt@unt.edu.
  6. Hell yeah!!! I'm there!!!!!
  7. Would I be able to order 1 game??
  8. Additional bowl games as well. The Cotton Bowl may finally get it's elite status back, not to mention the ability of Jerry World to host additional bowl. The Superdome hosts something like 3 bowls a year. Jerry World can do that in a heartbeat.
  9. The OLine will probably be pass blocking on most of it's plays from now on. It takes a very good athlete to pass block effectively since pass blocking puts a player back on his heels. Size, strength, & quickness are so much more important. We'll truly see how good the Oline is, this year. I don't see the scheme changing too much since most teams use a combination of both man-on & zone blocking. The biggest change will be the increased pass blocking, IMO.
  10. Thank God it's over.
  11. "Danny"?? Mr.Meager or Dickey?
  12. I'm right there with you. Really don't care either way if he comes or not. Vizza was a helluva pick up and has just as much potential, IMO. With teh plethora of young QB's we have at least 3 years before we need to seriously recruit another one.
  13. I'll drive him there myself if it doesn't violate any recruiting rules.
  14. Then how do these oral commitments from Jr's come into play? I thought coaches could contact Jr's after the football season???
  15. I'm right there with you ya!!! He's got a very close knit family and wants to stay as close to home as possible. I'd kill myself if he went to TCU or SMU. He's clearly stated North Texas is where he wants to be.
  16. True, but athleticism can make up for bad decisions easier than a good decision can against athleticism. Moreso in High School & College.
  17. Here's a little inside info for you: The Arizona Wildcats tried to get an oral committment from my cousin this weekend(6' 250lb DT Waxahachie High School). He wants to play for Dodge at North Texas and filled out the prospect questionaire a month ago. No letter, no contact, nothing. I know it's been hectic with the new staff moving in, but I can't help but worry a little.
  18. You can't teach athleticism, but I agree with you, playing QB involves skill, smarts, & confidence. I think Dodge can bring that to all of our players.
  19. He did more in one game and showed more in one game than any of the other QB's on the roster combined. Sad, but true. So what does that tell you about the QB situation at NT?? You can look at it two ways: 1. The QB corps is really bad. 2. WW is really raw but has potential. Take your pick. I choose to lean towards #2.
  20. Jordan Scoggins DT
  21. Nail, head, hammer, hit it on the head. I definitely understand Insall being upset because he has every right to be. However, the minute DD was fired, he should've covered himself and put out "feelers" for available offers from other schools. Coaching changes are huge moves that have huge effects in college sports. Responsibility falls more on him, IMO.
  22. I'm with you 100% ed. Dodge has proven his ability in getting players with less physical ability to overachieve. Just imagine what he can do with players that have superb, raw physical ability. I'm just as anxious to see TD work his magic. <-------- Dodge
  23. That may be true, but I think the switch to the spread was more of a factor. What type of reaction did you expect from Dodge on his 1st recruited QB to Denton? It still doesn't mean he won't redshirt . He'll get a chance to compete in Spring much like the FOUR other QB's, 3 with gametime experience, on the roster. It's very rare to see true freshman start in college at any position, much less QB. You can't ignore the players currently on the roster for the sake of them being DD recruits. I think Vizza was a helluva pickup, but just because he was recruited by Todd Dodge doesn't make him Vince Young.
  24. I'm in : OU- Loss SMU- Win Arkansas- Loss WKU- Win MAC team- Loss Troy- Loss MUTS- Win LaLaf- Win ULM- Win FAU- Loss FIU- Win Ark St- Loss We'll see much improvement in our team as a whole. JMo has a year like Ricky Williams(Tech) and one of our 3 DD era QB's opens our eyes with his passing ability. games will be close and our team comes out playing to win. We'll have a better record and sit in the middle of the pack in the Belt. 6-6
  25. With the current logjam at QB, Vizza will most likely Redshirt. This has to be a huge factor in Riley's decision to join his dad at NT.
