  1. I hate to admit it, but Dodgesballs is right. FAU is a pretty solid team and NT will have to play their butts off to send Howie home crying.
  2. Micah is probably the better blocker. He just lacks the explosion a singleback needs to have in these types of offenses. He's a hard nosed runner, but moves a lot like a FB, IMO. Look at TT's RB's Ricky Williams, Taurean Henderson, etc., for perfect examples of what I'm referring to. Cam has a very quick first step, but apparently hasn't grasped the offense yet. I just hope Jmo didn't play for injuries reasons. I haven't given up on him yet.
  3. I absolutely agree with you. The right QB could've hung 28 points before half and 50+ at the end of the game. NT should'ev scored at least 50 pts.
  4. We can thank Woody for that. Man, i wish we could've used him somewhere.
  5. NT's side looked fantastic!!!! You guys were cheering the whole time it seemed. Lots of noise! I was very proud.
  6. 1. Defense was bad, showing lots of the same. Lots of straight up cover 1 man, Hair Roman was getting picked on (not surprised), D appears to be deathly afraid of the run & looks to be playing it almost every down. 2. Meager had lots of poorly thrown balls. Many underthrown & overthrown, but receivers made some great catches. The radio guys were sweating him hard, but when you only hand the ball off 5 times, what do you expect as far as stats are concerned??? 3. Jamario's days are over. Dodge's offense does NOT utilize a running back. The RB does nothing but block 95% of the time, with an occasional draw play (only 1 play that goes left or right) with hopes to catch the D off gaurd for a huge gain. 4. SMU's cheerleaders are BAD. They care about as much as the fans do. Myself along with other NT fans were making the most noise even though we were outnumbered on that side. 5. NT lacks overall offensive speed. WR's were run down or could not really break free on man coverage. Could have something to do with Meagers underthrown balls. 6. NT lacks overall defensive speed. The DB's were being outrun by SMU's receivers on many occasions. 7. With the right players, a few years, NT could match & surpass that UH Andre Ware team as far as offense is concerned. I'll be anxious to see what "his" players can do in this system. 8. The QB is THE most important person on Dodge's team, period. That is all.
  7. I called SMU's ticket office and was told $27 per ticket. I went ahead and bought 3 online and have sideline seats on the lower level. Pretty damn good view, just on teh SMU side. Oh well, it's a chance to talk a lot of smack.
  8. In the words of the famous Clubber Lang, " I gotta lotta mo'!! "
  9. I need 3 myself, if anyone is willing to part with them. if not I will buy from SMU
  10. The truth hurts, doesn't it? We sound like a bunch of whiney Texas fans. How about NOT getting beat down 79-10 next time? How about preparing and playing a better defensive scheme? Is that too hard to ask?? Every team will be licking their chops and that OU tape of NT's a$$ whooping will be passed around like $2 whore to all of our opponents.
  11. Any word on JMo's status for the SMU game? We need a break out game from him if NT is going to win, IMO.
  12. Judging by the 2nd pic, we're in base 4-3 running cover 1. You can't see the other safety but it's obvious there are 3 linebackers inside the box, one safety playing man on the slot, Hair Roman playing man on one receiver, & an unseen Nuradeen on the bottom receiver. This screams we're playing the run all the way. Could it be any easier for OU??? Why the hell were we NOT in some sort of nickel defense??? No nickel back to offset the extra WR???? OU is in an Ace three wide formation for christ sakes.
  13. Agreed. The truth hurts too much, doesn't it?
  14. If Mr.T is doing the scissor kicking, all bets are off.
  15. How small of a school are we talking here? I hope you're not referring to the Arkansas St.'s & Idaho's of the world. Both looked worlds better than NT did Saturday night.
  16. Basic?? Hate to break it to you, my friend, but man cover 1 or cover 2 is about as basic as you can get. Kids learn these defenses in Jr.High/ freshman year of high school.
  17. At least until the SMU game. Let's just say someone is used to having the "superior" defensive athletes, at least that's the ONLY excuse I can come up with. Someone's learned mighty quick the disparity in talent among schools is way bigger than expected. As one advances in level among the football ranks, schemes & coaching become more important. At the high school level, ONE player can dominate the entire game. Things drastically change once you hit college and change again, at a slightly "lesser" rate, in the NFL.
  18. Well, that's pretty much what we saw all night. Stoops & Co. ate it up like an 800lb gorilla through a buffet line.
  19. Carib, Where did you hear these quotes? This really bothers the hell outta me.
  20. Finch, You make some excellent points and I have to give my 2 cents on this one. First of all, OU plays man coverage 100% of the game for one reason only...because they can. Their defensive talent is at the top of NCAA Div1 and worlds better than NT's offense. The same cannot be said for us, obviously. So why the hell does NT play BNR, Man Cover 2, & Man Cover 1, 90% of the night when my mother knows it can't be done? Sticking with the gameplan is one thing, but 50-0 at halftime when our D is supposed to be the strong point is ridiculous, IMO. Noone get's a free pass for that. My point and the fuel to my painfully firey a$$hole, is not the fact that we lost (it was fully expected), but the fact that the D looked so damn bad and out of position the entire night. I honestly believe our D has some damn good players. I will agree with what you said, now that I've had a few days to cool off, the real measuring stick (no matter how much we hate to admit it) will be Sun Belt play.
  21. I really can't confidently say who would win this. The "Toilet Bowl" could go wither way, IMO.
  22. I blame the defensive staff and the gameplan they came with. Straight up man most of the night with little adjustments. the same play almost went for long Td's 10x's or so??? Our corners pretty much left on an island and got 0 help. I hope TD ripped his defensive staff a new a$$hole.
  23. This was the biggest problem, IMO. Tackling was the least of our worries. He better be working on a better defensive gameplan this week. No excuses, period.
  24. Agreed 100%. First of all, I don't blame Roman 1 bit. It wasn't his fault he got 0 help most of the night. I know NT can't sniff OU's talent but I thought the defensive playcall was horrendous.
