Embarrassing. But these losses absolutely have zero effect on me now. I just go, meh. So is the life of Mean Green football. This program peaked in the modern era through Dickey and McCarney’s time. Sad to say it, but that’s the best we’ve got. Now with NIL and the crazy landscape of college football, NT is watching the train leave the station.

I watched Texas State at ASU the other night and TSU should’ve won. Close game, both teams looked evenly matched. NT would’ve gotten smoked by both teams. My mean green fandom flame is burning as dim as ever. There’s always one day, next time, next year, blah blah blah. Oh well, I don’t wear any of my UNT gear like I used to, either.

This Read and react defense blows ass. LBers could be the worst unit in the FBS. The D line isn’t much better but they’re undersized for a 3 front. Switch to a 4-3 which better suits the roster and recruit juco LBs. DBs refuse to hit people, but they seem to always be the ones having to make a tackle. RBs always hit 2nd level with ease it seems…..

This isn’t Teflon Todd bad but it’s inexcusable considering the history of NT football the last 10 years. Morris has been a huge disappointment. My only real positive is that NT finally has a legite QB….

Worst run defense in the FBS. NT LB play is below average. LB can’t shed blocks and too slow to react. DL reads and reacts all game. No firing off and trying to win at the point of attack. They must run a base read and react defense. It’s too passive against the run, imo. Birds are running the same play off tackle to different sides and killing them.

WR on the slant tripped. How crappy that play was.

The run defense is really bad and one of the worst in the FBS. The ability to improve the run D will determine if this team goes bowling or not this year.

It’s the Wild West at the moment, but when schools start realizing all these incoming players become 3rd stringers and end up never hitting the field, they’ll start thinking twice about dropping huge cash on kids that haven't proved themselves. That will lead into the kids that shine at the mid major level getting taken easily and showered with cash/gifts. The mid-major will be the minor league for the P5. Hit the mids then shoot for a big payday at the Power school.

They have better designed runs. NT only runs that ridiculous zone read that never works.
