Well, how does one deal with misleading stats? For example, the run/pass balance. The real reason why running plays are near the 40% range is because the NCAA counts sacks as rushing attempts. It has nothing to do with actual run plays called by Dodge per game. Stats are misleading and can be skewed in many ways for one's benefit (or reporting in this case).

Maybe in the future. This season, definitely not.

Well, you can't blame the OL 100% here, IMO. Troy's blitz scheme could've been stopped with an additional blocker or different protection schemes. Usually, the blocking scheme will call for gap protection to the left/right or man-on-man. This can differ on either side of the Center as well. If Troy's sending more than one player through a gap, someone in the backfield must compensate if it's not man-on-man protection. Of course, it doesn't help if Troy is sending more defenders than NT has blockers at the LOS.

Ding Ding Ding. I was mentioning this during chat on Saturday. They'll have to go max protect and keep an extra player in for pass protection other than the RB. Pass blocking is the hardest thing for O-Lineman to do and many are not very good at it to begin with. Let's hope the improvement comes as these guys notch their belts with playing time. I have confidence that it will.

The line has improved every week and is way better than last year, IMO. From all my complaints last year with the interior line(G,C,G), this new coaching staff saw the problem and fixed it.

FFR, This angers me beyond belief. I won't go into a long rant since everyone here has made excellent statements, but whoever this coach is, he better grow a pair because we're NOT backing down from unacceptable performances. So what the hell did this particular coach think? "Aw, they're just little nobody North Texas. Noone gives a crap about them or their football program. I'll just walk in and do whatever the hell I want with little accountability." Who the hell does he think he is? :angry: We're a D1 program, get out if you can't handle it.

I wouldn't anoint him to DeLoach's status just yet. I saw ULM receivers open all night. ULM's QB play was as bad as NT's was during DD's last few years. They were very ugly.

Defense played well and it was a great win. However, for all the people coming out of the woodwork from the "Build Mendoza a Statue" camp, Lancaster was absolutely horrendous. He missed many wide open receivers and threw many balls in bad spots. He was pulled for a reason. Now that I got my defensive shot in for the night . Anyway, a wins a win and I'm very excited about what I saw tonight. Vizza looked good, IMO.

Great win and defense played well. Good to see them put together a complete game.

He's definitely been a bright spot on the Dline. I'm curious as to why Miller & Weathers were "dismissed" from practice for disagreements with Mendoza?????
