  1. LOL!!!! Sad thing, if NT were to play both Washington teams right now and win, then lose the other 10, that would save Dodge's a$$ for a couple of years for the fact he actually won an OOC game!! I'd be right there with the rest of this board praising his greatness.
  2. Texas Tech Pocket Pool, classic!!
  3. If your QB running is so important, why not recruit a true dual threat QB to be QB instead of converting them to other positions???
  4. Recruit where I'm from - South Dallas: DeSoto, South Oak Cliff, Cedar Hill, etc. We were mean sumbitches on the field.
  5. Are these the only types of people & players Dodge can work with??????????? Ridiculous if this is true. Does anyone in the know, have any insight this?
  6. ULL - 52 NT - 24 NT will score 10 points in Garbage time and pad offensive stats as usual. The best athlete on the offensive side of the ball, Cam Montgomery, will only get 3 carries. Riley will get his one reverse pass & several reverses as usual. Defense will get little pressure.
  7. This isn't Arkansas or Oklahoma. Why not add a raised F250 with big diesel exhaust running up the cab?
  8. This is very disheartening, but expected. We continue to hit "new marks" for NT football this year, only in a bad way.
  9. SLC was a winner before Dodge and will be a winner after him. Explain Dodge's record before SLC.
  10. Stats don't tell the whole story. Most of NT's offensive production comes late in the game when reserves are in and the game is out of reach.
  11. He'll be looking for another Steve Slaton to run that offense. I can assure you, the Wolverines will have NO problems recruiting one.
  12. I like this one. Stadium would sell out for sure!
  13. Well, after judging by what we've seen so far, tell me sir, where do you expect at least one win to come from? This is a serious question on my part, so be honest and give me details on why you think it will happen via certain SBC opponent? Convince me to think otherwise. The team looks like they've flat out quit on him. There are certain levels of ineptitude worth working through if one can see improvement. We all just want something positive to latch onto. I'm interested to know how many coaches take over a program and actually do worse in every phase of the game in their 2nd season? Let me repeat that, every phase of the game.
  14. Agree with you 100%. I'm just going to come out and say it. Dodge needs to be FIRED if this team does not win at least 2 games, PERIOD. Do you really think improvement next year is coming if this team does go 0-12? What, 1-11 in '09 is an improvement??? Rice KILLED us with an OPTION QB. That's right folks, their starting QB was recruited to head their option attack. Now look at how well he's playing under the spread system. Now that's coaching, something this team does not have at the top. Many people say give him 2 more years. WHY??? A new coach can get the SAME or better results in those 2 years.
  15. You may be on to something.
  16. If the vote fails, who do we blame? Should we call for Dodge's head? RV's head? Or just pass it off as student body who cwouldn't give 2 $hits for UNT athletics?
  17. Could RV send a "positive" message to the student body by pulling a Lane Kiffin right before the vote?
  18. The offensive genius Dodge is has dictated Cam get 2 carries tonight.
  19. I seem to remember Harbaugh did interview with RV, correct? Did Neuihisel contact RV?
  20. So because you watched football longer than how long I've been alive, makes my opinion (or any other person) worthless? Well, how about I tell you that I played football since I was 7 years old, into high school, & at the college level, my brother played at a Divison 1 program, and I have friends playing at the NFL level? So that makes me an expert and your opinions junk. Seriously, it's all a matter of opinion, you are entitled to yours and we are entitled to ours. My thoughts are inline with many here who feel that his program is at a critical point in time. Why did RV take such a huge gamble on such inexperience to lead this program? I was in support of getting rid of DD,but I refuse to believe the talent he left is this inferior. These recruiting classes came during the SBC championship run. Look at the SMU game the last 2 years. You can't tell me that you believe this team is worse, talent wise, than those 2 teams????? Look at what happened to Brandon Monroe & Germaine Dawson last year. Woody Wilson, one of the best athletes on the team left. Dibrell's gone, two CB's left with the racism fiasco last year. Meager demoted (I do think Vizza is the better player now) certainly not for his play last season. Cam, the best athlete on the offensive side of the ball when he's in, comes in every 3rd or 4th series. The list goes on & on. Where does it stop??
  21. LOL I agree with you. What the hell was RV supposed to say? Anything other than a positive vote for "his guy" would've made RV look like a complete idiot.
  22. Athletes have to be disciplined and do alot of it on their own. There are tutors that specifically work with them and their busy schedules. Most instructors are pretty good about getting them assignments or daily lessons in advance. Not to mention coaches know a helluva lot about when and where players are supposed to be at specific times. Like I said in the beginning, most of it is on the athletes shoulders to buckle down and do the work. I played college football at a small school before finishing my degree at UNT, so I've been "lucky" enough to experience this first hand. I can tell you, it was damn difficult to do because you're body is so damn tired all the time.
  23. I'd tear that thing up. Looks good to me.
  24. How can I get my hands on some of that Banana Bread?????
  25. Hard nosed running teams have that "smashmouth" feel to them. The spread offense is a straight up finesse style. I think that has a lot to do with why we "see" this difference between DD's & TD's teams. DD's teams focused on having a ball control, run based, clock consuming offense with a quick defense(he didn't always succeed in having this, but you get my point). DD's teams had better athletes on the defensive side of the ball and I think that was part of his philosophy. TD's teams have better athletes on offense. Not a coincidence, IMO.
