It's not like we're going from Mike Vick to Jared Lorenzen at QB. I think Tune has proven he's a very capable QB. I would take the +20. I would not have taken +17.

It did when AXA sponsored it. The #1 team from CUSA & the MWC played every year. Kind of a Mid Major championship, IMO. It was a good game.

The Liberty Bowl used to be one of my favorite bowls as it used to host MWC#1 vs CUSA#1. Helluva game for a few years. I say give the Bowl back to us mid majors and make it a Top Tier mid major Bowl like it used to be.

My wording was off. Definitely not even close to being as risky as a high school coach. I think TF is a solid candidate. I'd still take Franocchio or Kragthumper 10 times out of 10 over anyone out there (if money grew on trees).

Well, I'm throwing Franklin's hat in there for the fact he knows the sun belt and was a very important part of Troy winning the SBC title & New Orleans Bowl. The guy turned Omar Haugebook into a helluva QB. But I can see your point in him being as risky as TD. I would want more experience there when Dodge is fired.

Have you watched any CU games?? I've always been a Buffs fan, have been watching the last few years, and QB play, much like what you've witnessed the last 6 games, has ALWAYS been an issue. The big problem is caliber of athlete Lil' Hawkins is. He's below 6ft with an average arm. Sound familiar??? Well, he's not even close in quickness & agility to Riley & I personally think Riley is a legite FBS QB. Now, they're questioning Lil' Hawkins decision making in this offense. Lots of water cooler material floating around now that CU won without him this weekend.

Kragthorpe or Franchione would probably laugh at a lower tier Sunbelt school offering them a HC job with a big12's janitor salary. Now the guy I think we should seriously target is Troy's former OC. The guy that was canned by Auburn.

How about NMSU being 3-4 under a 1st year coach??? Lets not forget the fact they are now a Pro Style Offense under the new guy. They were a spread offense the last 4 years.

Recruit a true dual threat QB, too. Quit turning them into DB's. All the bubble screens, quick slants, quick outs, & zone reads, really don't require a huge arm. I really wonder what Woody Wilson could've done in this offense.

Losing their head coach Brady Hoke & Nate Davis is killing them. I wonder if BSu keeps their HC after this year? The guy's overall record is as bad as Dodge's.

3 years is enough time, IMO, for any coach at this level to show something. RV royally screwed this up by hiring a coach who's had to learn this game at this level at our expense. Yes, the team isn't losing 40-0, yes the talent level has improved, yes NT has a new stadium coming IN SPITE OF DODGE. not because of him. But, if we're all in agreement that the talent level is equal on the field then why is this team still only sporting 1 win in 6 tries during year 3? Who's out there? Troy's old head coach, Kragthorpe, maybe, any number of d1 assistants who have the experience. But you're right, the question is how will NT pay them? RV handcuffed the school with a ridiculous 5 year deal. As for system, look at NMSU. They went to a pro style offense and have transitioned well. They were 2-2 until tonight's thrashing. The spread offense is a staple in college football. I don't think the "transition" will be an issue with this team.

The worst kicking game in the FBS makes this a no brainer. Going for it was the right call, IMO.

Cam is a senior & no slouch. LD has grasped opportunity by the horns and run with it. Tune has an arm that Riley sorely lacks, IMO. This offense revolves around a true dual threat QB or at least Teflon Todd thinks it does.

what's funny is Riley was knocked out for 4 weeks last night with an abdominal strain in my NCAA 2010 online dynasty. Sad thing, this kid has hella talent. We may never get to see his full potential. Javia Hall, baine, & Thompson may all be licking their chops at a legitimate chance to supplant Riley. Looks like they will get their shot.
