Great article, Harry. Carbon copy tale for many die hard NT fans. You mention 2 names trickling down the rumor mill. I'm guessing the usual suspect Bower is one who is the other?

I don't see what the big deal is on the article. Of course a player from UA would have a negative comment. The whole situation there was rotten. Fran surely didn't help the situation. If he came here and left NT for greener pastures in 3 years, I'd be all fine for that because it would mean we're winning. I say bring him in here.

I'm thinking Fran has a real shot here. He still resides in Texas and has run 2 major Texas programs. The dude knows what DFW recruiting is all about. He's a successful HC with skins on the wall. It's almost a perfect fit, IMO.

I hope RV interviews many coaches. I think Bower would be a solid hire, I just don't like the whole cronyism element it holds. We've gone through that type of crap early on with Teflon Todd...........

Leach is not my first choice & neither are the aforementioned. But you're damn right, I'd take ANY of the three.

I think Leach is the biggest pipedream hire of any of the "big name" coaches mentioned on the million threads littering the board. Hell yeah I'd love to have him, but the money just isn't there for UNT to get him here.

Not my first choice, but a solid HC and a very safe move, IMO. After taking it in the a$$ with the abysmal high school coaching experiment, RV probably wants be conservative and play it safe.
