To me it does look like a metallic paint. I really like it!!! I was really hoping for no helmet stripe. Love it!

Don't like the big curved pant stripe, but love everything else about it. Simple and most importantly ALL GREEN! It just fits to be all green when you're known as the Mean Green.

LOL!! That video makes good use of Mean Joe!! It's only missing a clip of him saving a cat out of a tree.

I thought I'd share my McCarney story. Last weekend I was at Central Market in Plano and ran into an older gentleman decked out in I-State gear. We were both waiting to be served in the meat dept. I turned to him and said we hired your old coach. He went into how great a coach McCarney was and how he turned I-State football around. He also stated he just moved here, with his family, from Iowa and was planning to attend the opening game. It's great to hear how much respect coach gets from ISU fans. It makes me wonder why the hell did they fire him???

Helmet Gate???

I like that helmet on the video. That green looks a lot like the old emerald green prior to the Teflon Todd era....

White facemask, eh? I'll have to wait for the finished product, I guess. I was hoping to see black used more with the KG. My pre-season uniform complaints are starting early.

It's good to know DMac is going after size. Just compare our OL & DL to FAU & FIU and you'll be stunned how undersized NT appears to be. FAU has some monsters on their front lines!!

I like the kelly green on last year's jersey, but that helmet color is definitely lacking in the appeal department. I'm hoping it's just a picture quality thing. I was expecting more of a metallic looking KG helmet. It woudl look better if it had a metallic look, IMO...

Dodge wasn't going to start this year and knew it. That and the canning of his dad contributed to his decision to leave. Wish it worked out differently for him, but oh well.

That helmet has a white facemask and the current North Texas lettering on the current helmet. Didn't someone here say they heard this years helmet would look exactly like that???

No to the interlocking NT !! SOW on the side of the helmet is the obvious choice. Black looks great with kelly green, just look at our BBall unis. I'm thinking a green SOW, outlined in black on a green helmet with a black facemask. Mean Green should have lots of green.

I was accepted at Syracuse and all ready to go. Decided to play football at a small school in San Antonio and went there instead. Hated it there, came back to Dallas not knowing what the hell I wanted to do, and ended up at a Dallas CC (Wife, girlfriend back then, may have had a little to do with that ). Transferred to UNT and the rest is history. I wouldn't mind my kids at TCU, Tech, or Baylor. No to UT & SMU...

I've got two kids, 4 & 2, so I've got a while before I get there. This is a question I've thought about a couple of times already. If they want to go to school in Texas, I would definitely try to "encourage" them towards UNT. (encourage may not be a strong enough word) . Absolutely no to SMU. If they want to spread their wings and go out of state, I would probably be happy with anything. Of course, distance, cost, specializations, etc., would come into heavy consideration.

What about letting quitters into the program?

I've been hoping to catch teh BluRay version on sale. Is it even available on Bluray?

Wow, I must have missed the criticism threads. The team damn near won the whole thing with a short bench. Guts, heart, & experience got them there. Sometimes you just run out of gas. How could anyone complain considering the expectations going into the tournament??????
