I guess CUSA feel sthey need to replace the 2 Texas schools they lost to the BE with 2 more Texas schools. So what will they do now that UTEP is jumping to the MWC, invite TSU??? I'm very surprised by this. It's pretty obvious this is all about markets & TV contracts........

Cry all you want, but I'd sure as hell wish NT could be part of the "First Four". Think of the matchup with fairly equal teams, playing well enough to get into the tournament, in front of a nationallly televised audience, and you should expect to see some great basketball.

Wow, some comments here are flat out ridiculous, IMO. I doubt, seriously, that three was the first shot attempt JJ wanted. You have TM, the best player on the court, you run the PaR, the defender comes off, TM is behind him. I'm 99% sure JJ wanted the ball there going into the lane. Sometimes, players just make bad decisions. It happens. WKU got to the final for a reason, did y'all expect them to roll over and lose by double digits?

None. Belt doesn't need to be the FBS gateway for FCS schools. I could care less how fun & easy the trips are. If NT stays they need to add current FBS members if expansion is a must. Even though the conference is still viewed as a national doormat, it's been very stable.

I grew up in DeSoto and had no idea UNT existed until near the END of my senior year when I was doing the whole college song-n-dance. I knew of SMU & TCU growing up.

So TxSt & UTSA will be coming along with every other WAC school left out of the new Alliance? Are we looking at an old 16 team WAC like conference with the Belt?

I predicted 24 teams in another thread. I read somewhere this "conference" has no intention of cross divisional games, thus giving some ease to the worries of a huge footprint. If TV contracts are as big a driver as we are lead to believe, I think the 2 divisions will try to establish themselves in as many big markets as possible (for money & viability). Maybe they wish to send this Super Conference Champ to a "Big Bowl"?
