The goal right now is to reach .500. Dynamic play at the QB position can get this team to that point. Of course, improved play fron the entire team across the board can do this as well. It's just that QB play can have an immediate impact and NT has a big question mark on a highly touted player at that position. It's something to look forward to come football season...

The x-factor here is BB, IMO. If he's the game changer all of our green kool aid is making us believe, NT could hit .500. If the same squad from last year steps on the field, 3-4 wins max. Sad, but a tougher conference could make this real ugly real quick....

You have to establish a winning program in order to bring in good recruits. JuCo players help do that with the ability to immediately contribute. I never quite understood why NT is not recruiting more JuCo players to get that quick shot to the arm this program is so desperate for.

LMAO!!! I needed that laugh. I'm a little concerned about the recruiting as well. Seeing Fran do his thing at TSU is really twisting the knife here. I love DMac, but he may be hit with RV's head coaching curse. Sucks for us.... Winning will cure all ills. Mac needs to take that next step this season. Put up or shut up time is here.

Love the colors and overall look. I'm probably in the minority but I hate the interlocking NT that gets so much praise around here. Put the SOW on the helmet and you have a winner.

NT recruited a QB hard last year, he just picked AFA at the last minute. This is what happens when your program is a doormat for nearly a decade. Next season is put up or shut up time. BB is now in the on deck circle, I'm hoping he shows enough to take the job from DT. I have a feeling this staff has all their eggs in the BB basket...

I know it's frustrating but we have to give it one more year. This team doesn't have the offensive playmakers to come back from huge deficits. The strength is the OL & RBs. I know most of you want to see a Mike Leach attack but it ain't gonna happen here. NT has to play to their strengths....

Love you being here truss. I do agree with some of what you said, and yes many of us played on Fri & Sat nights. Just remember, most of these guys on this board give their hearts & souls for this program. Most of these guys are huge contributors financially. Emotions run high. Take the complaints with a grain of salt. The place cools down a couple of days after a loss. Like most message boards, the sky is falling after a loss. In the end, we all just want NT to improve and eventually win...

Herman Edwards, then the coach of the Jets, said a change had to be made when his offense was struggling. You can't replace all 11 players, so you go for the one position that has the biggest impact -- QB. A young Chad Pennington came in and the Jets became a winning team for several seasons with him at the helm...

Most here predicted 5-7. Don't be naive people, we all know what happens to a program with damn near a decade of futility. How much has the personnel changed in 1 season? Losing sucks, but we have to give him one more year before we start questioning the coach's ability. We can't deny we're seeing the changes, it's just going to take time for this team to surpass .500. Yes, it's that bad right now. Just look at what NT has at QB & WR. There's a lack of talent, speed, & playmakers across the board...

If the running game produces and controls the clock, the defensive play will rise to the occasion. When these things happen, NT wins, no doubt in my mind. Question is, will there be consistency? Can this team put solid back-to-back weeks together?

I love it since I've always been a fan of run heavy offenses. Not that zone read shit, but the line 'em up, man-on-man smashmouth football. Think about the OL type players NT can recruit here by pitching this style of offense. Also, i think it's a necessity considering the skill/talent of the QB. NT can put more of the offensive load on the passing game when the talent level improves there. Until then, we'll continue to see remnants of the Ol' Buick.

A good friend of mine played for OU under Switzer. Most of OU's roster is full of Texas players. This isn't a state of Texas vs the state of Oklahoma to quite a few people...

Gilbert stunk and continues to stink at SMU. I agree about Mac Brown doing so little with a loaded deck every year.

For some reason Ozzy and MacNuts can't beat DT in practice. Look at what Coach Mac did with the kicking spot. If there were a better option, I'm hoping the move would've been made by now.
