Well put, Harry. 100% accurate, IMO. I'm going to use a Parcells reference ( or Pursulls as Jerry Jones would say) but DT is just the bus driver. He's not going to nor is expected to do anything more than sit in the driver seat and get you from point A to point B. All fine-n-dandy for a team that can dominate in other aspects of the game. NT needs a dynamic threat at QB to open up the offense. The coaching staff knows this & recruited BB (and DW) for those reasons. Will we see that at all this year????

I thought the oline was solid. Ohio got most of its pressure from overloading & blitzing Also, it's hard to run when the D is playing the run most of the time. This is how opposing defenses will continue to play NT if nothing changes on offense....

I think it comes down to the shackles on the passing game. NT's anemic aerial attack consists of lots of quick screens, playaction, & an occasional quick out/slant. Not a lot of reasons for the D to play off & the pass unless they're looking at 3rd & long.

For all the 6 wins prognosticators, don't count the UTSA game as a gimme. No way in hell NT rolls them like Idaho. It will be a coin flip, sadly.....

I honestly think the coaches don't trust DT to be a playmaker, thus the shackles on the offensive play calling. It just doesn't make any sense to be as conservative as NT is. Call me crazy, but I'm still thinking the leash is on DT. Look at his performance, it's consistently inconsistent. This has to be influencing the play calling. Put DDub or BB in there and take the freaking cuffs off. Running early and often sets up for short 3rd downs and playaction. NTs a run first team for obvious reasons. Mac & Canales are content with a bus driver at QB....

There was an obvious hold on Ohio's 2nd TD. The screen pass to the outside on 3rd down, Ohio's slot WR was holding there. DTs pick 6 and average play. I swear I've seen more pick 6's from him than by any other NT QB since I began following the team during the daffy eagle helmet era. The worst kicking game in CUSA. Defense getting suckered in by the exact same 1st play Idaho ran last week. But in their defense, they settled in and played well, IMO.

I expected a loss and a close game. Exactly what we got tonight. The record may not show it, but Mac has this team going in the right direction. The talent level is there, the foundation is there. Some key mistakes killed NT in the end. I swear Ohio's 1st TD was the exact same play Idaho ran last week. DT's pick 6. If Balls St walks away with a W next week, DDub or BB need to be inserted as a starter with this team never looking back.

Does anyone know if every game on ESPN3 is replayable? I know some games are able to be replayed after they're shown live. I'm going to miss the 1st half but want to watch it all. I'm going to turn off all my score alerts, etc.

I agree, special teams were sub par. Lets hope they corrected it somehow for the Ohio game. Crucial for special teams to contribute positively in a big game on the road.

My prediction: NT peels off the Flying Worm sticker on all the white helmets and applies a green SOW. They'll put the centennial pants to use and bust out the Dickey era Jerseys since they match the stripes on the pants. Maybe I dreamed all this up last night?

Ohio is a real measuring stick for how this year will play out. Lets just get passed that point, then start looking for top 25 votes, anointing DT the best QB ever, and then calling for a DT Heisman campaign. Please remind me, NT did play Idaho last week, right?

He's got a good arm and silky smooth delivery. There's definitely zip there that DT lacks. He's a little thin, but I expect him to add good weight as his career progresses. I'm pumped over his potential, running Canales' system as a real dual threat QB. Definitely, a hidden gem last recruiting season!

Joe Public will bet this line down. The big NT win and the big Ohio loss helps change perception in NTs favor. This will be a very, very tough game for NT to win. I wonder what knee jerk threads pop up if NT loses this one?
