I agree with you but Mac is super conservative and wants just a bus driver. Defense & the running game are Mac's thing. I dont think we'll see DW unless Greer gets hurt or pulls another night like UT...

He's definitely the most athletic of the bunch, but I'm thinking SMUt probably had 2nd & 3rd teamers in at that point. Both Greer & McNulty were average today. Greer had an impressive throw on that back shoulder fade that was called back from an ineligible man down field. McNulty had a couple of decent throws and a couple of lame ducks today. In the QBs defense, they weren't asked to toss the rock a whole lot today. Overall, a much better day. I still hope DW can win the starting spot at some point....

My tailgate will be active in about an hour, right in my kitchen, standing shirtless in my Mean Green boxers....

I'm confident the defense will be stellar today. The offense & QB more specifically a huge unknown. I keep thinking about what we've heard since the Spring Game & what we've witnessed last week. Mean Green - 17 Mustangs - 14

I'm hoping Greer puts last week behind him and plays better. I saw quotes from him and heard Mac blaming the OL for the poor QB play (I still put a lot on the QBs). I expect the OL to be back on track this week....

I was in the student section for that game and will never forget when Woody kept the ball on the zone read and burnt the SMU defense for a TD. He was in a foot race with a DB but pulled away right at the end to score. One of my favorite games and one of my favorite plays by a NT player. He's definitely a legend in my book.

These kids think they're good enough to supplant someone on the depth chart. Prestige is a huge factor, too. I can go to Baylor, I think I'm good enough to beat out So&So, play in a dynamic spread, and play in a P5 conference or I can go to UNT and probably start in a run happy offense at a mid major. Choice is pretty obvious I think...

I loved the look Saturday. I tell you what, a chrome green helmet similar to the filtered Instagram pic would look even better! I guess if we're complaining about the unis, I too, have always hated the pants. That hook stripe always looked weird to me. The big half hook stopping mid thigh just doesn't look right. Toss the stripe and put MEAN GREEN in big Kelly green letters on either side of the pant legs. I think that'd look better....

I don't think any of us expected to win, I sure as hell didn't. But I expected a helluva lot more from the QB position than I saw last night. A helluva lot more. You haven't been here long, so I understand your frustration with the fan base, but we've been here for a while. We've been through the uber conservative Dickey days where game plans in power conference games were openly admitted to be bland and clock burners. We've seen some really inept offenses here and last night was up there with the worst of them. Probably #1 to a lot of us over the last 15 years. NT is supposed to be WELL BEYOND that point, SSP. Mac's 4th year, a HOD win and a decent season last year but we just witnessed something out of DD's last 2 years here. Unacceptable, IMO. I think we all have the right to overreact a little.... But I think we all agree the D looked freakin' solid and the running game was decent. NT can do some damage come conference play with those two things....
