This staff is already limiting their potential talent pool at QB by not looking at anyone below 6'3". I just flat out don't understand why they would do this???

Coach Mac isn't going anywhere for at least 3 years. He could go 0-12 the next 2 years, it ain't happening. He just got an extension last year.

Anyone ever have to stare at a drill going full bore at 230am right outside their home? I have and it sucks a fat one. I lived at the Meadows of Hickory Creek near Argyle and the drills were set up on either side of our neighborhood. One literally was right across the street from me. The pompous energy companies could give 2 shits about residents. Tearing up neighborhood roads and working at all hours of the night, giving us residents the middle finger. Drill into the shale outside of the city limits, not in my freaking backyard....

I fully expected this to happen, just a helluva lot sooner. Mac's been wanting a DT like QB to take over and he's got one right in the making in AM. Now, that he has his Ol' bus driver, he can concentrate on what he really wants to do, win with defense, running game, & special teams. Buick 2.0 folks. DW won't take a snap again unless AM gets hurt. Greer has gone the way of Ozzy and is locked away in the doghouse.....

Mac's always wanted to give the keys to MiniMac and he's finally getting his wish. He figures if he's got to develop someone it may as well be his guy. The only other thing is if Mac & Co are "stealth" recruiting another JUCO QB. Probably highly unlikely, but a possibility I guess.......

A lot of people, myself included, predicted 6-6. Finishing 5-7 is a helluva lot better than 2-10.

People forget, he was damn near beat out by a freshman Dajon Williams to start the year.....

Good post. We miss Byrd, no doubt. Hell, thus team sorely misses all the seniors. The other thing, QB play is so bad the running game just can't get going like Mac wants. No question, this team could get past average QB play last year, something it's not good enough to do this year. But QB play has been well below average, no telling how last year's team would fare this year? Maybe a couple more wins?

Easy answer to the OP.... NT failed to backfill the spots vacated by players lost to graduation this year. QB is such a visible position, it's easy to see the coaches failed to groom an AVERAGE replacement. However, it's far from the only position. Who's to blame? Coaches, recruiting, etc., it's easy to point to a number of things. I'm definitely not giving anyone a pass, but these dips aren't uncommon amongst most mid major programs. Check out UTSA & our Bowl mate UNLV this year. Both programs are about as bad as we are.

McNulty wouldn't be a scholarship quarterback on any other FBS team. It's a harsh reality but the darn truth.

Play for the future. DW should start, no excuses if this doesnt happen. Recruit a couple of QBs and JUCOs for next year.

The G5 have a huge market to potentially tap into. The P5 will be shifting into Minor League mode. Americans love their amateur sports and will hopefully be smart enough to differentiate the 2 leagues. I can see the G5 growing from this but they have to have the balls to break off and go their own way....

Don't get me wrong, I think it's ridiculous what the NCAA fat cats, universities, & coaches make on the backs of these young kids. We're talking a multi billion dollar industry controlled by a few with a select few reaping the monetary benefits. The kids risk their bodies every week to put $5 million in coaches pockets hundreds of thousands of dollars into the Ncaa president's bank account. I'm all for the kids being compensated. With that said the rise in player salaries is inevitable. Little Ol' North Texas, just too bad....
