  1. One of the biggest public institutions in Texas should strive for more than one .500 year out of 3 in football. I fully expect to reload and be competitive every year. The 0-6 road record and the apparent talent evaluation issues are inexcusable.
  2. A winning record in men's basketball.........
  3. Disappointing season, but I did predict 6-6 at the beginning of the year, so I was expecting a down year of sorts. I'm expecting additional changes to the staff, other than DC, for 2015. Hopefully, recruiting goes well and some of the redshirt freshman are anxious to make their mark next season. Mac will have a tough year in 2015 and will earn that paycheck.........
  4. Old & stubborn about sums it up. You gotta give Mac credit though, he's going to do it his way come hell or high water. If you don't like it you can go else where.....
  5. Doesn't bother me that much. What really bugs me are the losses to the CUSA underbelly of USM & UTSA. Well, I guess technically we ARE the underbelly of CUSA. The team appeared to have quit on Mac and he is shoehorning his guy in at QB. Now that is frustrating....
  6. This is the 1st year in almost a decade I forgot who and when NT played the last few weeks. It's sad to say, but this season about sucked the football life outta me. Maybe I'll reset over the offseason and see some decent NT basketball. I still plan on renewing season tickets..........
  7. I thought I read somewhere that Chumley was going to be converted to a TE? I, too, have a gut feeling Greer & DW transfer out. I remember reading earlier in the year that DW has aspirations to play pro ball. I'm sure every collegiate athlete has these aspirations, but for a QB to sniff the pros, he will need some passing skins on his wall, it sure as hell ain't gonna happen here in this offense.
  8. I'd think we'd have 1 more win just because QB play has been downright atrocious this year. This team would be playing for a hit 6 and not for MiniMac's Gametime experuence for 2015....
  9. Agee 100%.
  10. LOL @ the cookies. That whole movie is hilarious.
  11. At least you've come around on McNulty.
  12. Greer will never touch the field again for NT. He's gone the way of Ozzy. Dajon might have a snowballs chance in 2015...
  13. This is your starting QB for 2015. Stone cold, lead pipe, lock. Yep, Mac is playing for next year and his goal is to get MinIMac as much exp as possible. Of course, the goal is to get him to DT's level in a couple of years. Not beyond DT, just right at it. That's McCarney's eternal measuring stick, 2013 DT...........
  14. Someone makes a helluva cup of coffee and we all know, McCarney is a big coffee drinker.....
  15. He's not the minimum 6'3" Mac requires. They wont even bother....
  16. I see what you're doing here, TFLF. You're setting yourself up for a big "I told ya so" if Mac does indeed lead his team to a winning season in 2015. It seems like a gamble of the highest order but what do you have to lose? If NT goes down a similar path next year, which is HIGHLY likely, you'll just fade into the wind because you know the odds are stacked against the football program. The GMG mob will be up in arms again, not even remembering you're optimistic prediction. Now if NT somehow pulls off a good season in 2015, you'll thump your chest and proclaim your intelligence and unheralded foresight. You're not pulling the wool over my eyes, buddy!
  17. I just took a huge dump, then proceeded to breakfast where I had 2 huge sausage/egg tacos, washed down by a Splenda Coke. Now I'm washing the skillet and cup I used. This fits perfectly in this thread....
  18. I think untjim is right. Mac will be here at least another 3 seasons. Have we all forgotten the Teflon Todd debacle??? That dude should've been canned after year 2, but RV kept him around for 2 more seasons. The most worthless college football coach in the history of NT, rode it out for nearly 4 years. Mac has a winning season and a Bowl win, no telling how much of a safety net he'll get with RV. With that said, it's not reasonable to talk about canning Mac after this year. He's earned the right to get at least one more season. Lots of disappointment this year, no question about it, but we need to wait and see what happens in 2015 before anyone starts calling for his head, IMO. Unless he retires, I'm thinking RV gives him 3 more years regardless of performance.........
  19. DW had a lot of pressure on him. The coaching staff pretty much wrote him off with Greer and MiniMac over him on the depth chart through most of early fall practice. After limited time in fall practice, to all of a sudden be thrust into the starting role at a very critical point in the season is a recipe for disaster. DW performed exactly how the odds stacked against would allow him to play: like a redshirt freshman that would make a ton of critical mistakes. It was a Hail Mary of the highest order by this coaching staff and it succeeded about like a typical Hail Mary does: incomplete or intercepted in the end zone. The bottom line, DW has shown flashes and you would have to be blind to not see that he has shown the most natural ability among the current scholly QB's. Hell, how could we forget that he almost beat NT's Uber God QB, DT, last season?????? Sure an argument could be made that he didn't do or say all the right things in practice and battle for the no 1/2 spots but now's the time to play for next year. Coaches admit his superior talent, it's time to coach him up. Mold him to what they want him to be..........
  20. He had a great run here at NT. His defense is the reason NT had success last year and made it to teh HoD Bowl. Thank you Coach Skladany. You'll be missed.......
  21. Turner Gill just to make him the coach in waiting when Mac retires.
  22. This was my first thought as well. Looks like Mac is putting some of his staff on the hot seat......
