Where are all our SMU trolls? Would they be missing if SMU had won?

Breaking: North Texas land Liberty Transfer QB Reese Mooney
ADLER replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Reese was kind of overshadowed his senior season because he graduated the same year as Louisiana QB's Arch Manning and Eli Holstein. Reese Mooney was also a star baseball player at Denham Springs outside Baton Rouge. He chose Liberty over many traditional football powers because the Flames coaching staff guaranteed that he would be permitted to play both football and baseball. -
Thanks for doing the research.

Question for Cooley or any of the other more knowledgeable North Texas sports historians. Has Rubin participated in more North Texas victories than any other athlete in any sport in school history? If so, is there anybody on the current roster that could surpass that victory total, (Aaron?) and who are other athletes, in any sport, that could be close?

Nick Saban retiring
ADLER replied to GoGreenBeans's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Wouldn't be a bad move for Sweeny. He's a proven coach and already loving Alabama would be a bonus for both. He's also currently situated at a school that is slated to likely be left out of the two premier conferences after all the dust has settled. Neither the Big Ten nor the SEC seemed to have any interest in Clemson. -

Dr Norval Pohl thought North Teas should be doing far better in athletics and fired AD Craig Helwig and brought in Gene Stallings for an outsider's perspective. Oh yeah Gene Stallings thought Fouts Field should be replaced, he just thought we had higher priorities since our coaches in our two potential revenue sports were both so horrible. The Chairman of our Board of Regents Bobby Ray wouldn't let the football coach be fired so President Dr Pohl released the basketball coach before he even hired a new AD. -

Saban won six National Championships at Alabama and one at LSU. -
Yep, and there's Logan Wilson arriving at Cincinnati through the portal. They must have been damn thirsty.

I love the team but horrid crap happens when ...

Currently outscoring them 26-11. What could possibly curse us by the end of this game? Calling Boise ... .

FIFY. I tend to side with Truth, Justice, and the American Way and against people that oppose those values.

Is Rice in the Witness Protection Program or something? Even the most informed college basketball fans would have no idea who those nasty uniforms represent. No Rice colors, a very small generic looking bird head logo, and the school name not even on the uniforms; only a tiny R above the names on the back. And Rice, a usually reliable shooting bunch ... only shooting 25% in this game.

They lost to Texas State, won only 3 games the entire season, and one of those three was against the powerhouse University of Long Island. There will be changes at Baylor and nobody's starting job is assured.

You decide to criticize the messenger although he has offered no opinion whatsoever? Did you really watch (and comprehend) the whole video? Did you watch the analysis discussion by what I would evaluate as two fairly neutral men? Please list where you disagree with their conclusions. I'm awaiting your reply.

No, it doesn't, nor was there any explanations offered by the possibly biased posters that originally created this potentially racially based thread. The only factual explanation mentioned was that this was not Derek Chauvin's "first killing" and here's a few details of that: I guess some groups will always concoct misinformation and disinformation to benefit their narrative.

Is there some school that you'd like our teams to represent other than our own? Is that how it works Green Otaku?

Newsflash for everyone. NONE of the players, coaches, or athletic department employees care about North Texas if a better option comes along. Please don't question their loyalty because they have none. Bank on that. And I am not saying anything bad about that. They are all going to do what they perceive as being best for their finances, their football careers, and their families, and there is nothing wrong with that. I too hate to lose players but I want every one of them to always do what they believe is best for their personal situation. But, and there's always a big but, I expect that while they are here that they are 100% committed to this program, this university, and respect this university's traditions. I still cant fathom how we let a player that absolutely avoided contact be a defensive captain, how we let a new coach dedicate his first year to playing pirate in honor of a Tech coach, and we let mercenary student athletes select what uniforms they'd like to wear because they'd prefer to disregard our traditions.

I can only think of one time that North Texas beat a team that had a player go on to win the Heisman.

No. I only hear "North Texas". I think elements in the school tried to push UNT for a while but it never really caught on except in social media because we're all basically lazy and typing UNT is easier on our poor overworked thumbs. Properly, it's THE University of North Texas, much like people pronounce THE Ohio State University.
