  1. There were discussions last year about opening it back up after the games during the postgame radio show. It would be even better if the postgame show could be hosted there. This would be an excellent way to boost involvement for the alumni association, and fans could spend meaningful time while waiting for traffic to clear.
  2. Same. It just looks better than any other combination.
  3. When actual facts and statistics are considered when forming an opinion: https://dentonrc.com/opinion/columnists/walter-williams-was-trump-right-about-baltimore/article_47064595-a144-5780-b1da-b8e9c2509fec.html
  4. My wife has now asked me to try that and see if it works.
  5. Incarnate Word brings more of their own fans than SMU.
  6. It's pregame, most fans would still be tailgating, and everyone wearing ponchos indicates inclement weather which would further keep fans out of their seats until kickoff.
  7. A likely starter here from day one Wow, what could have been, and should have been.
  8. I viewed the eagle on the stadium as a North Texas icon for decades and didn't want to see it unceremoniously discarded during the renovations. I would have liked to have kept the entire bird, but my bride is not quite that lenient with my fanaticism. (pictured with it are a rare NTSU bobblehead, and an ultra-rare NTSC eagle statue on which the bobblehead is based)
  9. I remember the huge Mean Green Eagle on Fouts that faced I-35 for decades. I also remember how sad it was when I saw the dismantled eagle components sticking out of the construction dumpster during renovation. I wish I had at least kept the head for prosperity's sake. Oh wait, I did.
  10. Thor, it was a joke. I was making a generalization myself about people that make generalizations. .
  11. At least I know that all people that make generalizations are idiots.
  12. Have the areas which were formerly occupied by Fouts Field and the adjacent practice fields been converted into a parking lot? Are the lots completed, or will they be completed by football season? Parking was a real issue the last time we hosted Houston in 2011. A significantly larger crowd is expected for this season's game, and these additional lots would certainly help the situation.
  13. UTSA will keep going back as long as Bevo leaves the money on the nightstand. What a horrible way to build a program.
  14. Average Temperature for August 31 is 97° Temperature in the stadium stands at kickoff will be well over 100° Sunset in Denton, TX - Saturday, August 31, 2019 (CDT) - 7:55 PM Why not 7:00, 7:30, or even 8:00 kickoff?
  15. Gawd that's HOT. It's a good thing that we don't schedule late August games at 6:30 any more. That would be idiotic. .
  16. Ruston's pine forest, not swamp. It would be a nice place to live if it weren't so impoverished.
  17. North Texas fired Dan McCarney with his 41% winning. Wilson also has a 41% average but UTSA can't afford to fire him.
  18. Ruston is remote, but it is a nice place to live. It's not like the kids are being asked to move to some gawdaweful place like New Mexico. Could you imagine the challenge of trying to recruit to Las Cruces or Albuquerque?
  19. Louisiana Tech has traditionally recruited well, and I am happy to see them help raise the talent level for CUSA. I have a feeling that the UTSA signing class is going to be decimated if/when Frank gets canned this season. Their higher recruits are committed to play for him, not UTSA. They will bolt instantly, especially the recruits from Louisiana.
  20. Local paper is recommending that Temple follow UConn: https://www.pennlive.com/sports/2019/06/with-return-to-big-east-uconn-raises-white-flag-in-chase-for-power-five-status-temple-should-do-the-same.html
  21. No, we already named the Fine Arts Center after Mason.
  22. I didn't even know about intercollegiate esports before i read this article. I find the premise interesting because my son is an avid gamer and may some day be willing to risk the Big Five.... but...I was shocked when i first read (misread) the subject title as UNT escorts program announces $20,000 in scholarships escorts? Are we really going to offer scholarships for that? .
  23. I think some players learned the hard way who not to trust. Certain schools started making room for transfer players by breaking their commitment to committed players. Because of the timing these lower three-star players were then left with few options, for most, nothing other than 1AA schools. https://247sports.com/college/smu/Season/2019-Football/Decommits/ .
  24. They all look so unhappy, as if the Alpha Betas just trashed their house?
