Is your backup tailback now able to hold out for more money because the starter got injured? Is a player worth more at a really bad Arkansas team than a really good Arkansas State team? The days of the sleazebag opportunists like Delany and their greed inspired schools need to come to an end. This California law, as bad as it originally sounds, may wind up being the the catalyst for fixing many of the problems in NCAA sports.

Jim Delany is the poster child for "the problem" with NCAA sports. Television contracts and sponsorship should be paid to the NCAA and revenue distribution should be equally divided among every scholarship athlete at every college regardless of sport, gender, or conference affiliation. Any school that violates this policy should be barred from hosting participation.

I'll commit to buying two kegs of beer for the Green Brigade if Daniel Cook will allow them to tailgate for one game. I guarantee they could play a loud lively version of the Chicken Dance .

Plumm's right, we would benefit greatly from the exposure on regular television in the metroplex. Students like to attend events that are being televised, and it has enormous value to local recruits who's friends and extended families can watch their games from home. I don't know if it would be cost prohibitive or if a UNT Network would violate the CUSA contracts, but certainly we could outbid the Saturday Autorama and other infomercial shows for air time. This is what WKU does for their basketball program and it has been incredibly successful.

Seriously, how many thousand times can we sit through "A jazz ensemble made famous in 1927 by Spanish composer blah blah blah..." I get it, that music was popular at one time, very very long ago, but it's outdated and stinks now. Jazz is to music what Surströmming is to food. Other than that, I love the Green Brigade.

I asked the Houston fans sitting on my row about the drive up and they said that they're alumni and that the live pretty close. He further stated that only a small percentage of their DFW alumni chapter actually live in Dallas or Ft Worth, and that most live in the cities on the north side of the metroplex: Allen, Plano, Carrolton, Flower Mound, Coppell, etc. and that games in Denton are much more accessible than games at the tiny privates. He said their chapter helps market UH in those suburban high schools by sponsoring football games. I hadn't heard about that, but it makes sense he said because they heavily recruit those schools for students.

Holy smokes, can you kids overreact. As Vito often states "Winning is less about the X's and the O's and more about the Jimmys and the Joes." Upper tier G5 schools like UCF, Boise, and Houston still recruit at a higher level than North Texas but that gap is narrowing as our recruiting level is getting better every single year.

Huh? The track and soccer facility faces the sun and is uncomfortably hot, and the small roof only shades the area behind the stands? Why didn't somebody point out this obvious blunder when the artists renderings were first released? Oh wait, that Adler guy did.

Much like Family Week last year when we hosted Louisiana Tech, parking is going to be a mess, even with the expanded lots. You don't want to miss the first quarter because the pay lots were already full and you had to park on the far side of campus or chance Cement City.

Just the opposite, this could benefit the G5 programs. Let's just say, the G5 programs instituted that each school could offer 22 players $100K per year to play there. It would cost only $2.2 million per year but you'd be able to steal all the best players form the P5 programs. Most, if not all, of the P5 programs could not afford to pay ALL of their 85 players that amount and would then require that the whole system get corrected. Eventually you get back to the NCAA receiving and distributing all television and merchandise fees, exactly how it used to be, but with a fair amount going to each athlete (in all sports).

Bless their little hearts, but they write for the NT Daily and probably don't know that a team has more than one quarterback, that more than one rarely are on the field at the same time. They would be so much better off, and avoid this type of embarrassment, if they asked Matthew Brune to proof read and edit their materials before they publish them to the web.
