DRC: DIII All-American guard set to transfer to UNT
ADLER replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Nobody will have a reasonable shot at pro ball after this season; too many games have been cancelled, and the few high profile teams we've played have not been incredibly competitive games or include heroic performances by any of our guys. They will get the required attention if these returning seniors can make some waves against next year's full schedule, especially if they can advance in the tournament. They could certainly have the personnel to do so. . -
No, we could lose the ballgame. Oh wait, that's already been determined and there absolutely no reason on God's Green Earth not to play him? Martin needs experience at quarterback to prepare for his future.

I am proud that our defense takes this whole social distancing issue very seriously.

Transfer Junior Guard Xzavier Malone-Key
ADLER replied to NorthTexasSportsNetwork's topic in UNT Basketball Recruiting
Xzavier Malone-Key is a high flying 6'4 lefty CG for Farleigh Dickinson University. Malone averaged 12.3 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 2.0 APG as a junior this past season. Malone excelled as a scorer out of the P&R, ranking in the 95th Percentile as a P&R Ball Handler. He shot 34.9% from 3PT while ranking in the 83rd Percentile as a Spot Up Shooter. Key Games Last Season 🏁 The Philly native had a career-high 29 points on 8-12 shooting and 11-13 from the free-throw line in a win over Quinnipiac on 12/3... 24 points on 9-12 shooting and 3-3 from 3PT leading FDU in a win over MSMU on 2/29... and 17 points & 5 rebounds @ Notre Dame on 11/26. -
I am very happy to see we're wearing uniforms this week, our first time at home this season. We've worn Throwback Costumes and Fad Color Costumes for every other home game.

Despite El Paso's current Covid 19 pandemic spike, with overwhelmed county hospitals unable to accept injured players, UTEP refused to consider relocating Saturday's game to an alternate location. El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego has proclaimed a county wide lockdown and that UTEP would not be able to host the game because athletic and entertainment events are not categorized as essential businesses. Simply put, the Sun Bowl in El Paso would not be able to host the North Texas - UTEP football game. Not being able to play a game at a specified site is not a new situation for this football series. UTEP, then called Texas Western, was scheduled to be the first guest team at North Texas' opening of their new Eagle Stadium on September 20, 1952. North Texas couldn't host the game at the new stadium because the new field's natural turf was not ready due to a recent heat wave, and requested the game be moved to the older but smaller stadium on campus, to a different metroplex location, or postponed to a date later that season. UTEP wouldn't consider postponement, insisted that the game be moved to El Paso's Kidd Field, and finally compromised with the game being played at a midway neutral site in Odessa, Texas. Now, though no fault of their own, UTEP cannot host the current game in this series. Shouldn't UTEP have to play by the same rules that they themselves created, to only play at the opponents stadium or at a neutral site. And if they decide not to, UTEP should be forced to forfeit the game. https://kvia.com/coronavirus/2020/10/29/el-paso-county-judge-considers-more-restrictions-possible-shutdown-due-to-virus-surge/

Cowboy Pants
ADLER replied to NT91's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
From Paul Lucas at Uni-Watch: A Cowboys rep confirmed that the team has indeed adjusted the shade of its silver-blue pants — a possibility that I explored a bit in yesterday’s post. “We switched the pant color a bit to the ‘Cowboys Star Blue’ — the name of the dye lot on the fabrication of the pant,” he said. “We updated the dye lot for 2020 to have more blue in the color, since over the last few years it had become more greenish than the blue/green tint it originally had.” https://uni-watch.com/2020/09/22/cowboys-confirm-two-different-patches-new-pants-color/ -
This is probably the right answer. North Texas moved their September 20, 1952 home game to a neutral site in Odessa because the new Eagle Stadium (Fouts Field) was not quite ready. UTEP should return the courtesy on a weekend that their stadium cannot be utilized.

No, I don't tweet, and for sure would not be posting on a recruits page.

I love the green jerseys, but we just did throwback helmets at the last game. We need to keep working on getting our current branding to be better known around the country. The interlocked NT from the 60's does nothing to promote the university.

So, our lowest rated high school commit is now Oklahoma State's lowest rated high school commit. I'm not sure fans of which school should be disappointed or pleased by this announcement.

As one of our alums eloquently stated, two out of three aint bad.

I would imagine that it was the University of Houston that made the decision to cancel the game. Their athletic department has been closed all week and is not accepting phone calls. Tropical Storm Beta may have also been a contributing factor, but they haven't released any details because their offices are closed. You can call the U of H Ticket Office main line at 713-472-6647 for confirmation of closure. This is the number customers are directed to call on ticket confirmations. ***UPDATE***: The U of H Ticket Office CAN be reached at 713-462-6647 . They are issuing full refunds for their cancelled game tickets.

This year, because of no eligibility being expended, is by far the best to be chasing graduate transfers. For one year only, ,most fourth year players will be graduating with a year of eligibility left, and many, many players will be graduating with two and even three years of eligibility left.
