  1. It looks as if realignment may be happening sooner than expected.
  2. Thank you. Both maps are encouraging in that they indicate people are making much smarter decisions than the local news had given them credit for.
  3. I have been in southern Louisiana for the last couple of weeks. Only 29% of the residents in Baton Rouge are vaccinated, and only 37% of the residents in New Orleans are vaccinated... and it's not because there are a lot of evangelicals.
  4. Well said Rob. I too like the Flying Worm unis, but firmly believe that we need to restrict how often that alternative uniforms are used, and never for road games or bowl games. We should start by burning the unlucky dishwater duds.
  5. Oh, and we can put the North Texas Squirrel on our helmets for one game every season. That too would be very, very, cute. And maybe we can play one game per season with uniforms representing our Dallas branch campus. .
  6. Uniforms are iconic only because they are recognizable. They are only recognizable because they are consistent. Ours are not because we allow people to constantly jack with the colors and the logos of our branding. The issue is so prevalent that our actual uniforms are seldom ever seen. This clustermess is what's seen by recruits, prospective students, and sports fans across the nation. Doubt me? Then please show me a single picture of our actual uniforms in Texas Football or any other 2021 season previews. Nothing, not a single picture of our uniforms, just a hodgepodge of gimmick colors and throwback costume logos. They may be cute, as I can see all of you fawning over the adorable photos, but they are not our branding and they do very little to promote the university. To the rest of the country viewing these on television, they scream "generic unknown college" with totally unrecognizable logos. If we really are just going to just strive for cute and trendy, then why don't we put a picture of Baby Yoda on our helmets? He's both adorable and some shade of green.
  7. I hope we are then through with cute throwback costumes and resort to wearing uniforms for the duration of the season.
  8. Photo from recent scrimmage. HooooHoooo! Yeah-Yuh! .
  9. Actually, I enjoyed the hell out of that game.
  10. What we could do... especially since much of Louisiana is in crisis this week... Buy out Northwestern State of Louisiana and invite Oklahoma to come to Denton this weekend. It's a win-win for all, except maybe our untested defense.
  11. There’s a possibility the game is rescheduled, relocated or cancelled if the weather doesn’t allow for travel. https://soonerswire.usatoday.com/2021/08/27/oklahoma-sooners-football-joe-castiglione-tulane-green-wave-hurricane-ida-new-orleans/ Add in the fact that the city is in Covid lockdown and the game likely may have been cancelled anyway. Last year, before the Delta variant, Tulane only let fans into one game, and only a few hundred students attended.
  12. I think the measurement would be performance against their contemporaries, with the assumption that modern defensive backs have the same advancements. So, we'll have to watch this season in order to make that evaluation. Would somebody please revisit this thread after the season so that we can have a fair comparison. I am curious what the opinions will be then, and how they will differ from now.
  13. Is Littrell's receiver recruiting so good that the players with eligibility remaining this year (including Darden and Bussey) are comparable to an all star receiving corps from the preceding 20 years? I hope so, but that's a pretty lofty speculation.
  14. Very sad to hear this news. My Bride and I sat and visited with Erven at his summer basketball tournament in southern Dallas many years ago. He reiterated how much he loved the people that he'd met during his time, and his brother's time, at North Texas. He was a very nice person and I am proud to say that he was my friend.

  16. I hope our athletic department decides to use North Texas uniforms, with North Texas' colors (Green and White), and current North Texas logos. We didn't see current uniforms at a single home game last year, several road games wore played in 'off' colors, and even the bowl game was played in old throwback uniforms. It's no wonder that we have an identity issue.
  17. At the very least, Austin, Milley, and Blinken should be forced to resign. This may not all be their fault, but they are the chosen front people to represent the new Rainbows, Lollipops, and Unicorns diplomacy implemented by the puppeteers that pull the strings for this administration.
  18. Thank you for posting this. It is inspirational to see how a young man strives to not only overcome such a tragic incident, but to excel in so many ways.
  19. Those are some tough teams to beat in recruiting. https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Shawn-Jones-140183/RecruitInterests/
  20. Matthew is an incredibly talented sports writer. I am sorry to hear that he is leaving, but I wish him only the best with his future endeavors with LSU. He's certainly put his heart and soul into his North Texas coverage. There's no doubt he'll always be green and white in his heart, and I look forward to his future contributions when he returns.
  21. Franks and Beans! Franks and Beans! .
  22. I don't know if it'll ever get him a pro football gig, but Raveon is one tough workout monster. Turn your volume to LOUD before starting video. I left the video running for hours just to give him the Sisyphus treatment.
  23. https://247sports.com/Player/Ron-Tatum-46036746/high-school-186708/ Originally a 4 star Army All-American from Oklahoma City. Who knows? He could be looking to play closer to home, and there could also be another school, probably a lower rung P5, tampering with his commitment to UTSA. UTSA will surely let him out of his NLI. Let's see where he goes, and why he goes there.
