  1. They're better than they used to be, but only because they were punished and told that they would no longer have night games or tailgating if they didn't improve. It was the September 2005 game against Tennessee when drunken swarms of LSU fans attacked the Vol's team busses, rocking them and then shattering windows with beer bottles. Suddenly behavior that was always deemed acceptable was condemned by LSU when it was found that some high up UT administrators, coaches' wives, and wealthy boosters were also on the besieged busses. The SEC offices were going to get involved.
  2. The Frosty Helmets look great. "Stay Frosty My Friends" Second best North Texas road uniforms, only surpassed by the all white 'storm troopers' used against Arkansas.
  3. If further Big 12 expansion takes SDSU, Boise St, and/or Colorado St from the MWC and Memphis and possibly USF from the AAC, the media deals will be decimated for both G5 leagues. I don't see joining with the remnants of either conference as being particularly beneficial to North Texas. If the above situation materializes, it would probably be better to have the CUSA-East schools join the AAC-East and have the three remaining tiny privates from the AAC-West join CUSA-West to salvage both leagues, and cherry-pick the Belt to get to 12 or 14. It's nobody's dream scenario outside of the Big 12's invitees, but it does provide regional opponents and promote rivalries.
  4. Per the Iowa St AD, the Big 12 is expected to add 2 to 4 after OU and UT have actually departed to bring membership to 14 or 16.

Welcome Back NT80, we've missed ya.

  6. Great for Chris. I watched him play in high school, saw most of his games at North Texas including many road games, and even tried to catch one of his games while he was playing in Europe. I would like to see him become an assistant coach at North Texas some day. He loves the game and he loves his alma mater.
  7. He has returned from OU to LSU. https://247sports.com/Article/Oklahoma-RB-Kevontre-Bradford-enrolls-at-LSU-rejoins-Tigers-football-team-eligibility-170482962/
  8. Houston and Texas Tech are already rekindling their rivalry.
  9. Marcus Moore, formerly of The Colony, entered the transfer portal Thursday. He has immediate eligibility. https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Marcus-Moore-120451/RecruitInterests/ https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Football/TransferPortal/ .
  10. I still have and use mine as well. Those really were nice gifts.
  11. He entered the transfer portal on August 30. The four star Lancaster running back was recruited by North Texas and received an offer from UNT a year ago. https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Kevontre-Bradford-104419/RecruitInterests/ He transferred from LSU to OU in June, and then decided to leave OU in August. There is speculation that he may return to LSU since he wouldn't count against their 2021 NLI count. If not, he could transfer anywhere and play as a freshman in 2022.
  12. The best gifts I can remember were the North Texas green parkas in the early 2000's. They were really nice quality, and you'll still see alumni wearing them during inclement weather events.
  13. Tulsa lost to FCS Cal-Davis last night. Tulsa plays at Oklahoma State next week, and then at Ohio State the following week.
  14. It looks as if realignment may be happening sooner than expected.
  15. Thank you. Both maps are encouraging in that they indicate people are making much smarter decisions than the local news had given them credit for.
  16. I have been in southern Louisiana for the last couple of weeks. Only 29% of the residents in Baton Rouge are vaccinated, and only 37% of the residents in New Orleans are vaccinated... and it's not because there are a lot of evangelicals.
  17. Well said Rob. I too like the Flying Worm unis, but firmly believe that we need to restrict how often that alternative uniforms are used, and never for road games or bowl games. We should start by burning the unlucky dishwater duds.
  18. Oh, and we can put the North Texas Squirrel on our helmets for one game every season. That too would be very, very, cute. And maybe we can play one game per season with uniforms representing our Dallas branch campus. .
  19. Uniforms are iconic only because they are recognizable. They are only recognizable because they are consistent. Ours are not because we allow people to constantly jack with the colors and the logos of our branding. The issue is so prevalent that our actual uniforms are seldom ever seen. This clustermess is what's seen by recruits, prospective students, and sports fans across the nation. Doubt me? Then please show me a single picture of our actual uniforms in Texas Football or any other 2021 season previews. Nothing, not a single picture of our uniforms, just a hodgepodge of gimmick colors and throwback costume logos. They may be cute, as I can see all of you fawning over the adorable photos, but they are not our branding and they do very little to promote the university. To the rest of the country viewing these on television, they scream "generic unknown college" with totally unrecognizable logos. If we really are just going to just strive for cute and trendy, then why don't we put a picture of Baby Yoda on our helmets? He's both adorable and some shade of green.
  20. I hope we are then through with cute throwback costumes and resort to wearing uniforms for the duration of the season.
  21. Photo from recent scrimmage. HooooHoooo! Yeah-Yuh! .
  22. Actually, I enjoyed the hell out of that game.
  23. What we could do... especially since much of Louisiana is in crisis this week... Buy out Northwestern State of Louisiana and invite Oklahoma to come to Denton this weekend. It's a win-win for all, except maybe our untested defense.
