  1. Still looks like a good deal, but Memphis, SMU, and South Florida may be gone when we get there. Dear AAC Presidents, Changes could be coming much sooner than expected. Please be prepared to quickly replace Memphis, SMU, and South Florida should they get invited to the Big XII, Wichita and Temple if they subsequently bolt for regional basketball conferences, and Navy if it chooses to go independent. Us former CUSA schools could all be paying millions each just for the right to play Tulsa, Tulane, and East Carolina in the new American Conference. At least we'll have a better conference administration, better payouts, and the backing of ESPN. Please keep the conference footprint tight, don't appease any schools that'll threaten to leave for a basketball conference, keep La Tech, Louisiana, and Southern Miss on speed dial, and work with ESPN to select as many as four other schools/markets to make the revised American Conference Sixteen the most viable conference possible.
  2. Fun show. Thanks guys.
  3. That depends if Navy wants to remain in the western division. Temple would certainly prefer for them to be east members, and now they've adding another Carolina school and a Miami area school to that division.
  4. No, 7 in each division. Wichita doesn't play football, and Navy parks all sports other than football in another conference. (It's like, together, they make the 14th full member school)
  5. Interesting post off the Pony board
  6. That's a logically sufficient debate winning statement for some people. That, and, you know, that other thing.
  7. Well, some prankster created this fake Twitter post and someone put it atop all the gmg.com forums Which of our mods posted it there to make it look like we're all incredibly gullible?

  9. He has teaching to do. You'll hear Monday that we need to get better in all three phases of the game.
  10. One of many. Based on his credentials, I am amazed that he was hired here. Then again, maybe Helwig wasn't the best AD.
  11. Totally Trashtastic - even more garbagy than our current black or gray uniforms. "It's nothing other than kids liking that color" .
  12. This is where you ever so politely fire the person that made the decision. "It's nothing personal, but you've proven that you are not capable of doing your job."
  13. That's why we have the freedom to cheer for a myriad of schools that are not called the Mean Green.
  14. Is North Texas ready for the Prime Time?
  15. Sorry, ... gonna call your bluff on this one Coach Andy. The Coach's Hot Seat poll revisions are announced on Tuesday, and this news of Seth moving up to #7 was updated on GMG.com last Tuesday afternoon. https://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/topic/149016-national-coaches-hot-seat-official-poll-2021/?do=findComment&comment=1312749 A new Hot Seat update will be out on Tuesday this week. How do we think Seth will fare?
  16. We made a big deal about the 1967 Throwback Costumes for the 2018 Louisiana Tech game when we unveiled the Mean Joe statue. We lost. And our fate has been dismal since while wearing combinations of 70's throwbacks, 67 throwbacks, bad luck black, and the dreaded dishwater duds of 'spitgate' fame. Get back to OUR REAL UNIFORMS and the Mean Green will start winning again. We always play best in our uniforms that were worn at Arkansas and at Iowa. I'd be tempted to start wearing those for home games as well.
  17. It's because this week's uniforms are a hodgepodge combo, kinda Frankensteinish, mix of 1967 helmets, 1967 away jerseys with a diving eagle glued to the neckline, and black striped pants from other obsolete uniforms that don't match anything. (apologies to Greg, Peter, and Bobby)
  18. This wisdom is from the great Matthew Brune back in the 2017 season when he was a young NT Daily sportswriter. Say hello to the all-white uniforms. These are absolutely perfect, and they’re better than most other all-white uniforms other teams wear because the green is soft enough to compliment the white without taking away from it. These uniforms are literally perfect, and it’s no coincidence the Mean Green led Iowa University through two and a half quarters. I don’t think I can stress how much I like these enough. Grade: A+
  19. Screw it. They can look cheap and trashy again this week in the throwback costumes. It's been nearly two seasons since the football team has worn North Texas uniforms.
  20. Nobody's getting twisted, just pointing out an incredibly obvious flaw. The issue is that we are letting people that don't give a damn about this school make decisions that affect the image and branding of this school. That needs to stop. It wouldn't be tolerated at any other university.
  21. I am calling your bluff. I had never seen Oregon use green wings on a white helmet at any time before the Ohio State game. I had seen them wear green wings on a fluorescent yellow helmet with yellow uniforms, several other green, yellow, & chrome combos, but never green on white like North Texas uniforms. The Helmet Project reinforces my stance by showing that this particular Oregon helmet was not debuted until their Ohio State game this year. http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/
  22. True, the old el cheapo tape logo helmets look like shit. They're like those old New Year's 2000 Glasses that have no use, no value, but you've never thrown away. They may have some slight sentimental meaning to you but you really should never wear them out again.
