  1. Said on the post-game radio show that he plans to be back for next year. He has no real reason to risk injury, but his first score next season will make him the oldest player to ever score in FBS football. I think that's enough of an incentive even if he spends most of his time coaching and carrying a clipboard. He's a hell of a team player and I can't see him passing up these opportunities. He has the rest of his life for old people stuff.
  2. ESPN's take on UNT ***ESPN's take, not mine*** Seth has a 23.3% chance of saving his job. They say he's gone if he loses, and UTSA is favored at 76.7% winning percentage. I personally believe that there is much more that factors into the equation. .
  3. Well, the Lashlee led 2018 offense at SMU was able to garner several first downs against North Texas, all in the fourth quarter and when already losing by 34, but they did get a few first downs.
  4. High School: Two-year letter winner in football and three-year letter winner in track at Paris High School... Played both quarterback and safety in high school... Recorded 28 touchdowns, 1,568 yards rushing and 986 yards passing on offense and 107 tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions, four tackles for loss and a forced fumble on defense... Was named All-District and was a team captain... Was a member of the National Honor Society... Team won the District, Bi-District and Area Championships. Personal: Son of Da’on Savage and Stacey Moore... Born Feb. 12, 2001.
  5. What is his record against North Texas?
  6. I think fans are exhausted of seasons of building, potential, just wait til next years. 1/5 of teams finish in the top 25 each season, and something like 40 win bowl games. Those figures haven't seemed to include us.
  7. According to ESPN the North Texas/ UTSA game was somehow narrowly edged out by Ohio State/Michigan. Too bad. It would have been fun to watch Lee Corso put on the Scrappy head right up there on The Hilltop in Highland Park. (and yes, you're correct, there is a suburb in Dallas County named after it.)
  8. I have read about these type of rallies. Torch Light Parade? I'm sure Tasty Greek will be there along with some of his Pizza Cooking brethren.
  9. I have nothing against their decisions in this meeting, and will even buy them their requested copies of Roberts Rules of Order, but somebody please, please, ask our SGA members to stop dressing like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
  10. There are very few conference games, maybe the 2001 MTSU and NMSU games, the 2013 Rice game, and the 2018 La Tech game that have held the importance that the upcoming UTSA game holds. There may not be a conference championship on the line, we're already eliminated from that, but results of this week's UTSA game may indicate an instrumental moment for our program and it's future. There's a lot riding on this game for both schools.
  11. Would you please inform the University of Florida that I would gladly not coach their football team for only $11 M.
  12. With that being said, maybe they should rehire Steve Spurrier.
  13. I have deleted the original post out of respect to your dissenting perspective. There are precious few people that that have followed and loved this program more than I have for the last 40 years, but you are certainly one of them. I appreciate your dedication, commitment, and generous contributions to North Texas, not just to athletics, but the whole university community. I admire and love you #43, Adler .
  14. Don't know if he's still there, but North Texas running back great Ja’quay Wilburn was the assistant director there after graduating with a degree in geriatric care. Great kid.
  15. Maybe. He was the 32nd highest ranked pro-style quarterback in the country when he was recruited and signed with TCU's Offensive Coordinator and quarterback guru Justin Fuente. He was drafted by the Yankees, made a sizable fortune in baseball, and has returned to college ball only for the love of the game.
  16. It may have been Chris Weinke at Florida State that was the oldest at 28. I couldn't find a record of anybody older that has scored.
  17. I believe Danny Wuerfffel is the oldest player, at 28, to ever score in Division 1 football. He won the Heisman his final season at Florida. Austin will be 29 at the start of next season. There have been several older players, but none that have scored.
  18. He's starting and he's only a sophomore. He has a lot of football yet to play. He was the backup last season and won the starting job. He was the backup this season and won the starting job. He obviously has dedication, and is finally getting needed repetitions. Please remember how long he has been out of football; his last season as a starter was 2010 at Argyle and North Texas was still playing in Fouts Field.
  19. Actually, as weird as it sounds, yes. The first time he scores next season he will become the oldest player to ever score in NCAA Division 1 football.
  20. Touchdown. UTSA wins 33 - 31
  21. UTSA in position to win in final minute.
  22. So true. James Mitchell in the 2004 Slip-n-Slide game at Arkansas State. A lead so secure that the team is horsing around pond sliding behind the benches.
  23. It's this exact kind of thinking that made us a perfect candidate to be knocked down to 1-AA;basing our future success against a decades old mark from one of our worst seasons when we'd already fired our coach. People didn't go to Fouts because of the experience. Fans were incredibly far from the action on the field. We have a new stadium where all the acceptable seating (All except upper wing) has been sold out multiple times by essentially our own fans. We're either planning for success or preparing for failure. I believe we have the leadership in place to raise the program to a new plateau. And yes, that does include expanding the stadium to attendance levels comparable to the future Big XII schools. .
  24. Kansas State and Oklahoma State are seeing their paychecks drastically reduced and their travel budgets drastically increased. Both recruit northern Texas heavily, have a large local alumni base, and have thousands of fans that travel for their teams. Non-conference games at North Texas would be a logical selection if Apogee had the capacity to host those kinds of crowds. Unfortunately, in recent seasons, those schools have bypassed the metroplex and all it's natural advantages to play games in San Antonio's Alamodome because it can accommodate their fan base.
