I would never wish to do anything to disappoint our women's team. A couple decades back we played at Oklahoma State in basketball on the same evening that the OSU football team was playing Oklahoma. The football game was shown on their video boards. Everything seemed to work out well as it was a huge victory in their Bedlam game and the basketball fans were very pleased that they were able to keep up with both games.

I was actually thinking that it may get hundreds or more fans to attend their game, more to celebrate cutting the nets for their division championship, and possibly garnering them more fan support at the CUSA tournament in Frisco next week. We'll want to have as many fans there as possible. It'll be the women's team's version of this:

Maybe the men's game could be played on the video boards in the Super Pit? Wouldn't that be incredible? The video boards aren't really required for instant replay, and at the women's games most fans sit so close to the action that they're not reliant on the video boards. Would somebody with a little more influence than me please contact Wren and see if it can be done.

Mean Green Men Win Program Record 15th Straight

Not exactly a stellar Free Throw percentage, but I guess if you have a night like that it's best to have it when toying with UTSA. -

MEANGREENSPORTS Abou Ousmane dunks on Jacob Germany in front of both UTSA fans SAN ANTONIO — The North Texas men's basketball team won a program-record 15th straight game Thursday with a 59-48 victory over UTSA at the Convocation Center. The Mean Green (23-4, 16-1 C-USA) have now won the second-most Conference USA league games in a single season with 16 and extend their already program record for single-season league wins. Thursday UNT was led by Preseason All-Conference forward Thomas Bell who finished with a team-high 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the victory. UNT, which owns the nation's top scoring defense, has now won 21 of its last 22 games and has held seven opponents under 50 points this year. The 15 straight C-USA wins is the longest among active league members and the sixth longest in the league's 27-year history. UNT finishes the regular season on Saturday with a road game at UTEP. Saturday's game is scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network. North Texas Women's Hoops Host UTSA Tonight at 6:30
ADLER replied to ADLER's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Possibly the best halftime show ever at a North Texas basketball game. Cheer squad performed the National Championship Award winning routine. I also involved the Dance Team and the Drum Line. I wish they would have performed it Saturday at the men's game. The crowd would have gone wild. I didn't post pictures of when the Dancers and Drum Line joined because I planned on showing their YouTube video. GONG! They can't show it on YouTube because it's part of the routine for the Cheer National Championship in April. Still a GREAT show. Sorry if you missed it. -
Please people, leave baseball for UTSA just as a humanitarian gesture. Baseball is the only sport in which North Texas doesn't kick the crap out of UTSA every single season and that's only because we don't field a team. Compiling the last half decade, North Texas has like an 80% win ratio over them in every single sport. Do we really need to kick them harder? How much punishment does UTSA really deserve? Don't they deserve some pity? Leave UTSA Alone!

North Texas Women's Hoops Host UTSA Tonight at 6:30
ADLER replied to ADLER's topic in Mean Green Basketball
A victory tonight will guarantee a winning season for this year, and will be the fourth winning season during a five year stretch. That's a feat only achieved one other time in North Texas history and certainly not against the strength of schedule that the Mean Green currently plays. That's very impressive considering the team won less than a third of it's games under the previous coach. Jalie is building something special. Please come out and support our women during these final two games of the regular season. -

Fantastic CBS article on The Mean Green success

Wow, that's two fantastic articles, the CBS one and Plumm's response. -
KLTY Ticket Promo Are there any "All Tournament" tickets, or are they all one day only?

The wreck looks horrible. I am very relieved to hear that everyone is alright. If the vehicle is totaled, which looks apparent, I am already anxious to see what their replacement tailgating toy will be.

Agree. I too think we can do better. I am shocked that a school with such a large media department doesn't do more to promote it's athletics. I always envied how all WKU games were on television through university productions.

Mean green Maniacs are becoming powerful
ADLER replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I'm grateful to the leaders that carried it under the "Maniacs" name but I think that issue has already been clearly decided and people are planning on correcting it. I'm sure that same passionate group can rebuild the Pit Crew brand. GMG! -
Sun Belt schedule includes Marshall, ODU, USM
ADLER replied to TripleGrad's topic in Mean Green Football
I still think it's sad that Southern Miss is having to go down to the Sunland. I know they're financially strapped, but USM was a great program just a couple decades back. So sad. The other two I couldn't care less about. -
Perhaps I am missing the obvious here. Why would this video cause you to have issue with the athletic department? I think everything went well considering they were short staffed due to a weather related travel advisory and road safety concerns. Many fans still came to the game in spite of all local news stations requesting people not to drive.

Mean green Maniacs are becoming powerful
ADLER replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Devil's Advocate time... Our student section received a Technical Foul penalty during the Southern Miss game for using obscenities. How would fans have felt if that had instead happened at the end of the La Tech game and caused us to lose the game? I love a raucous student section that can help steer the outcome of games, but I too think it should avoid threatening behavior or being excessively vulgar. There are ways to be more effective without lowering our standards. -

That "Bull..Shit.....Bull..Shit.....Bull..Shit.....Bull..Shit" chant seems to be catching on. I predict the whole country will be using it tonight.
