I'm not sure which page this question should be posed on, but... If the band, cheerleaders, and dance team are in New York for a parade on Thursday, will they be home and ready for a football game on Saturday?

Garrett Riley-OC at TCU will be the next UNT football coach

It's Back To The Future for them Meanwhile, we're stuck in Groundhog Day Just Hit

Yep, that would be six bowl games in seven seasons... yet, that would be only two winning records in seven seasons, with all of them ending badly.

Graham very likely will be available as an offensive coordinator again after this season. It looks like his boss, Neal Brown, may be the first head coach fired at West Virginia in more than 40 years. They want Neal gone but he has a $16 million buyout clause. I would love to have Graham return as Offensive Coordinator if he becomes available. Matched with the right head coach, this could be the perfect place for him to resurrect his career.

It doesn't come down to one game, or even one season. Seth's record against G-5 contemporaries through seven seasons is 35-38. These are the schools that he was paid the huge salary to consistently beat. So, after seven years, we are slightly less than mediocre against comparable competition. That's "meh!" at best, and "meh!" doesn't sell tickets or build a program. Seth had to do something special this season to justify North Texas retaining him. He didn't. We can't afford to prolong the "meh!".

We have to beat Rice. Otherwise, the winner of WKU-FAU (with 2 conference losses) will play in the CUSA Championship in San Antonio.

Signed with our AAC rival Tulsa. -
The Big Ten has made no secret of possibly becoming a 20 school conference, currently flirting with Stanford, Oregon, and Washington, and maintaining an open invitation to Notre Dame. They're just waiting on Notre Dame to make the announcement. Notre Dame could lose the majority of their big annual rivalry games (Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, USC, and Stanford) if they decline.

Had a good season last year, and the year before would have won CUSA outright if they had held on for the final minutes against Rice in Denton. That's close. Jalie has built a consistent winner, and she represents the university extremely well. IMO her contract is worth every penny.

Once a year, only at a home game as a sentimental tribute, and NEVER at a bowl game. They do look beautiful but we do need to keep working vigilantly to establish our university's branding.

Ah, Trust. Like when the University of North Texas had an osteopathic medical school in Fort Worth called the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Like when the University of North Texas partnered with TCU to become a full medical school. Like when TCU was then able to split with North Texas, and use our assets to create the TCU College of Medicine while the insignificant North Texas portion was relegated to being "the hsc". That's right, this non-entity is not mentioned as affiliated with the University of North Texas, has it's own black, teal, and avocado colors, and it's not even capitalized. It is a matter of trust, and we have clearly entrusted our assets to the wrong people. We got swindled. Now Michael R. Williams has somehow been promoted to Chancellor. The "system" has been reduced to a loosely affiliated collection of components, and those have systematically been marginalized. I do trust him to do something, but that something isn't good.

He shows as being committed to Tarleton State.

We've been trying (unsuccessfully) to forge an identity, and we're now promoting a long deceased logo from a half century ago?
-
Wow, more retro stuff with long obsolete logos. They really should put a little effort into current gear before ordering gray retro gear. .

There is a history of really weird things happening in that area, not just on the bridge, but in the area predating the bridge. The Sam Bass outlaw gang used the region between Pilot Knob and Pilot Knoll to hide because locals were terrified by Native American stories of a predatory winged monster. Many people were mutilated over the decades with few ever living to describe the thing. Bass's men reportedly shot at something the size of a very tall man but had goat-like horns, wings like a bat, and moved "faster than imaginable". People referred to it as a "gargoyle" for some reason, and then, simply the Goatman. The disappearances always happened overnight and always to individuals or pairs. People tried to rationalize the attacks as being by black bear or puma because the remains, if any, were always found up in trees. The last carnage was in the early 60's to a pair of campers. All that was found were bloody clothes, and the lower part of the man's leg, far up in the trees along the creek. The park closed for decades with only the bridge running through it. They reopened the park to daytime use only in the mid-90's when the replacement bridge was built.

Wow, the black looks really trashy. Looks like the team has been dumpster diving at Goodwill.

Did Dana Holgerson elect to go on offense first in overtime vs Tulane? If so, why? I haven't seen that mistake made since Corky did it in the Nevada playoff game in '83.

DRC: Five thoughts on UNT's loss to Memphis
ADLER replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Yeah, and if he wins four we'll go to a bowl game, and there's no way Wren fires a football coach the same year he took us to a bowl game. -

The management has confirmed that they have the Mountain West Network, and they are running several drink specials for the Mean Green crowd.

The North Texas - UNLV game will be on all three big screens in the dining area at The Dive in Denton. Try to get there a little early for best seating, but all tables should have a good view.

Yes, that Flying Worm is just so 1970's GROOVY!!!

The ladies won 4-0 to go to 1-0 in conference play. The highlight for the Mean Green was that for the first time this season they were not upstaged by their opponents interacting and thanking their fans for coming out and supporting their team at the end of the game. It wasn't that the Charlotte team was also being comically aloof though, it was just that there didn't appear to be any Charlotte fans in the stands for their players to thank. Again, no acceptable excuse on our side. North Texas Softball, immediately after every home game, win or lose... NORTH!.....TEXAS!.....NORTH!.....TEXAS!.....NORTH!.....TEXAS!.....GO MEAN GREEN! (It only takes about ten seconds, but it means a lot)
