  1. Can these walkons be given scholarships immediately to replace a scholarship player that quits or transfers out, or is there a required period of time that must elapse?
  2. Fixed that for you. If the Pac12 goes to less than 6 permanent member (together for minimum 3 years) NCAA statutes say that schools like Arizona and UCLA would get to keep their own earned tourney money. Under what basis could the NCAA keep them from having it?
  3. Not entirely accurate. The Pac12 will be losing the NCAA Tourney credits, and that's inevitable. A conference must maintain at least six schools together for a tree year period to retain earned tourney revenue and an auto-bid to the NCAA tournament. Anything less than six and the revenue is rerouted to the schools that originally earned it. The result would be that WSU, OSU, SMU, and SDSU would actually have to join the MWC and then rename that as the Pac12. That way they could keep the Mountain West auto-bid. It takes 3 years to re-earn an auto-bid. An exception was made when the MWC split from the WAC, several lower conferences complained, and the NCAA stated it would never happen again. This is good news for dregs like SJSU that would've certainly been left behind if it was just a cherry picking process.
  4. Peruna Salt's father: "I know you want a P5 Sweetheart, but the Pac12 is about to crash and burn like the Hindenburg." I WANT A P5 DADDY, AND
  5. I wouldn't touch the MWC with a 39-and-a-half foot pole. USC and UCLA are already leaving, and the Pac12 is about to be decimated by two separate groups of four leaving to join the BIG10 and BIG12 respectively. Bank on it, it will happen. Only Oregon St and Washington St will be left. SDSU is already set to join the Pac12, and Fresno, UNLV, Reno, and Boise are slated as the first set of replacements. Wyoming, Air Force, Colorado St, and New Mexico would be the next four. SJSU, Utah St, and Hawaii will be unwanted leftovers, and there's absolutely no way we would want any alliance with them.
  6. The Pac12 media deal wil be dead. That's when Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah, the "four corners schools" will jump to the Big12 according to McMurphy. Essentially, the end result will be that Oregon State, Washington State, and SMU will have joined the Mountain West Conference. It may still call itself the Pac12 but all ten of it's premeir members will have already departed.
  7. One win for SMU is that they will be able to rekindle their Transformer Bowl with SJSU.
  8. I think that's pretty reasonable for essentially a custom jacket in our colors with stitched lettering.
  9. No offense, but you're on here bragging about potentially boarding a plane where eight of the other ten passengers have already strapped on their parachutes and are prying open the door. Washington, Stanford, Cal, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona State will all be leaving by the time SMU would get in. It's going to happen, and you'll soon be playing in the Big West OK, maybe the old western WAC. (Boise St, Fresno St, UNLV, Nevada, SDSU, SJSU, and Utah St are all former Big West schools and heir apparents to the PAC) Trust me, you have my blessings. SMU moves to what was the PAC 12
  10. Damn, SMU2006 was right about McMurphy. Changes coming for PAC 12
  11. I Like It. It may have taken us twenty-something years to change places, but we'll we'll be playing Rice, Tulane, Memphis, Tulsa, and SMU will be playing our old Big West opponents.
  12. I hope they accept it. Welcome to the PAC When the smoke clears after the Big 12 and Big 10 moves, SMU will find that they've joined Washington State, Oregon State, and what remains of the MWC.
  13. Just because eating Tide Pods isn't lethal every time doesn't mean it's a good idea. I understand that the Tide Pod people like the trash bags. I will keep cheering for the Mean GREEN, and the trash baggers can keep eating their Tide Pods.
  14. That may not have been the original question, but Tylor and Javion are certainly HOF worthy in my book. I have loved watching those two dominate and especially achieve the results at the end of games. Pure Magic. We are so fortunate to have them.
  15. They are again offering the North Texas Hockey Jerseys for sale. https://xjerseys.us/collections/unt-club-hockey
  16. Yeah, that was the wild wild west days of the internet, long before there were closed sites and passwords. We would read the info on Harry's Mean Green and then go converse about it on the "Paradise Board" with the lawnmower banner add. People from various schools were constantly screwing with each other's fan boards. Totally untraceable. We had trolls like Loyalfan (Dickey lover) and Whitman Mayo (Trilli hater) that lived on our board. And yes, signed Letters Of Intent were faxed to each school back then. It would have been so simple to have a dozen fans fax a bunch of black papers to a school all day and really screw up their signing day, or worse yet, forge signitures of some of their highest rated offerees that they were not going to get.
  17. I loved this inaugural GOMEANGREEN National Signing Day Super Show. It has great information and very good production quality. Hopefully it will become an annual event next year. A lot has changed for us since the olden days of recruiting speculation on Harry's Mean Green board prior to signing day and the simple Signed NIL list in the newspapers.
  18. Please remember that this player may have graduated from Channelview, but he grew up part of the Tongan community in Euless. It's a very tight-knit community that has an established history of incredible student athletes coming to North Texas.
  19. Trophy Club Byron Nelson quarterback Jake Wilson commits to North Texas Wilson totaled 8,994 passing yards and 100 touchdowns as Byron Nelson’s starter, and led the Dallas area in passing yards in 2022. https://www.dallasnews.com/high-school-sports/football/2023/02/01/trophy-club-byron-nelson-quarterback-jake-wilson-commits-to-north-texas/
  20. I know we're all basking in the euphoria of opening presents on Christmas morning and unwrapping that Red Ryder, but there's still a big hill to climb. We've signed some incredible athletes but so has our competition. Team Recruiting Rankings CUSA Team Recruiting Rankings Where I am impressed is how well Coach Eric and his staff performed in such a limited amount of time.
  21. Soccer does what? Please elaborate if I stated something incorrect.
  22. The North Texas Men's and Women's Basketball teams circle the Super Pit postgame, high fiving the fans thanking them for coming out. The Football team lines up and sings our alma mater in front of the student section at Apogee. Our Softball and Volleyball teams line up postgame and do the North-Texas, North-Texas, North-Texas, Go-Mean-Green! chant. I was thrilled when the Men's Basketball team went into the stands and celebrated with the Mean Green Maniacs and the student section after the UTEP game. This type of interaction is going to make life-long fans out of many of our students by getting them emotionally invested in our teams.
  23. SOC wasn't having a signing presentation until 10:30. Weather may even delay that.
  24. I Love It! Other than soccer, all of our teams show appreciation towards the fans that come out and support them.
