  1. Click HERE to vote for Caris Voting has been extremely slow today compared to the furious pace of last Sunday. Will there be a final counteroffensive by our opponents, or are they ready to concede defeat. It's still too early to call. Keep checking, and keep voting. Final Round - 2006 Tonight 9:00 Caris Tschauner (Sun Belt) 176,800 Shawn Manners (SEC) 141,248 Lindsey Visnic (Big East) 93,446 Jovauna Currey (Pac-10) 62,515 Taylor Yates (SEC) 25,394 Kimberly Barksdale (ACC) 13,596 Vanessa Marrero (Sun Belt) 10,162 Elissa Glavash (Big Ten) 3,480 Holly Thomas (Big 12) 3,137 Vote for Caris
  2. Those buildings at A&M and UT-Austin were paid for by the state and supplemented through donations by the benefactors that you listed. The business building at North Texas will also be built with state finances. Like most state colleges in Texas, North Texas receives funding through state appropriations. The UT and A&M systems pull directly from our states Permanent University Fund. The North Texas business building will be $50 million state financed and $20 million privately funded. Since there currently aren't any plans to integrate academic facilities into the structure, the $60 million cost for the stadium will have to be entirely privately funded through donations and student activities fees. Both projects are expensive, but both are necessary and extremely long overdue.
  3. So much for all the "one dimensional offense" banter about Todd Dodge. Let's face facts, his system is incredibly effective. Colleyville Heritage was as prepared as possible for this rivalry and was still dominated.
  4. As of this morning: 33,500 vote lead and all quiet on the eastern front. Final Round - 2006 Caris Tschauner (Sun Belt) 173,562 Shawn Manners (SEC) 140,032 Lindsey Visnic (Big East) 92,742 Jovauna Currey (Pac-10) 62,510 Taylor Yates (SEC) 25,360 Kimberly Barksdale (ACC) 12,591 Vanessa Marrero (Sun Belt) 10,155 Elissa Glavash (Big Ten) 3,453 Holly Thomas (Big 12) 3,126
  5. It would sure be nice if the team could throw a party or two to celebrate these players achievements.
  6. Andy, If Caris wins the Athlon's Sideline Spirit contest I will provide you the funds to buy a keg of beer to be used in whatever way you see fit. If Caris wins by more than 50,000 votes, I will double the offer to 2 kegs. Vote for Caris and Have a Party PM me if you have any questions. Adler

  8. ...actually, it appears that every school had votes that weren't legitimate. VOTE NOW, VOTE OFTEN! Check it out, and keep voting for Caris.
  9. I'd happily take either Todd Dodge or Jim Harbaugh as our new coach. I think both have the ability to become outstanding coaches for us.
  10. Well, back when I was in college I turned down Christy Brinkley every time she didn't contact me. It's much the same way for these coaches that are officially "turning down" North Texas.
  11. These people withdrawing their names from consideration leads me to believe that a selection has been made but has not been announced. The BOR meeting today may provide a few clues.
  12. I may have to reconsider the recomendation. That "legend" didn't appreciate some of my outstanding humor, and I received swats in front of the team on the day he announced that he was leaving for Rice.
  13. Let's see, another former UT quarterback in the mix. All kidding aside, as a former Memorial Mustang, he should automatically be given strong consideration if not offered the job immediately. (Mr. Mary Lou also fits that description, and he too should be given consideration, especially if he can have the "incompletions count as touchdowns when you need them" rule grandfathered in. )
  14. Shouldn't we have 3 bowl teams? Doesn't Louisiana-Lafayette get a bowl invitation if they beat Monroe on Saturday? Won't ULL be 7-5 and by NCAA rules have to be selected before any bowl can select a 6-6 team that wasn't a conference champion? What's the math? How many teams have better than 6-6 records and how many bowl slots are available?
  15. Let begin the new ERA OF......... DODGE BALL!!!
  16. Are you suggesting that they'll leave a full scholarship to play elsewhere? Who else is going to offer them a scholarship? Who else is going to offer them a chance at their quarterback rotation? Those players have been so tainted by Flanigan's system that their options would be really limited even if they did want a change. They should both recover their former abilities under guidance of the new coaches.
  17. Sturns can take pretty much any defender off the dribble and drive past 'em. He needs to be putting that incredible speed to use and start dunking on people.
  18. Yeah, but mine's bigger.
  19. I would add Phillip Graves of this year's senior class to that list.
  20. People, please be kind......
  21. 10. Show class and poise after the game. When the contest ends, shake the hands of opponents and show gratitude to your fans and supporters. Wow, it's too bad our lame duck never learned that. I have a feeling that the kids that bolted to the tunnel before the Alma Mater was played have done that for the last time. I wonder what meangreenpop is going to do with his "sulk and sob" speech now.
  22. If so, is this officially our new sweatshirt?
  23. CaribbeanGreen, Are you fishing for some kind of award for actually having read through one of Plumm's posts? C'mon, please admit you bought the Cliff's Notes. You're making me worry.
  24. Where is Bazaldua? Nick is living at his mother's home in Desoto, working, and saving money for when he goes back to school. He has recently gotten engaged, and is contemplating where to pursue his graduate studies. His Rhodes Scholarship is good for pretty much any college on the planet.
