Why is anyone acting as a mouthpiece for Ms. Engel to begin with? Is it really that important to anybody on this board that her uninformed opinion be broadcast to everyone that reads these message boards? I loved the guy's intensity. He never stopped coaching and encouraging his players even in games where inept offensive performances had eliminated any chance of victory. (North Texas fans referred to those as non-conference games) That being said, I hope we get whoever Todd Dodge wants to run the team.

The few times he actually played for Texas, he showed an arm like a rocket. He was a gutsy runner. He just never had enough PT and seasoning. How can you criticize a young fella who simply wants to put his enormous talent on the field and live his dream? Jevan Snead is a winner and will do well wherever he goes. Um, a little rumor control. As reported by RC Horn: Todd Dodge's wife, Elizabeth, grew up the daughter of a high school football coach. Her dad, Ebbie Neptune, was the longtime AD and football coach at Austin (TX) Westlake High. He retired two years ago. Elizabeth Dodge is a North Texas graduate.

Considering that a player has 5 years to play 4 seasons from the day that they first enroll at a college, Bomars clock would have had quite a bit of it's time expired. 2004, at OU 2005, at OU 2006, sat out because of NCAA 2007, sit out to transfer to Div 1 school (that's why he went 1AA) 2008, only season eligible to participate at North Texas I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but I think it's safe to assume that Bomar will be a Bearkat in 2007 and 2008. Then again, if he transfers and lghts it up in one season against D-1 competition, he could significantly raise his draft stock. We'll see, but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, most college programs redshirt the majority of their freshman class. This gives the 5 years in the system under the same coaching staff. Texas Tech has a fairly complicated system and they keep using 5th year senior quarterbacks and have had incredible success compared to previous years.. No, they haven't won any national championships, but they've elevated the program to where it's consistently competitive with the upper half of the Big 12.

I bet Randy Galloway has been working round the clock to make it happen. "Uh, I want to recommend um, what's his name, Darren Dickey from North Texas State for the job. I followed his 20 year career with the North Texas Hawks and he did a wonderful job and they fired him for no reason at all. Trust me, I really do know what I'm talking about."

There have beengames during the past two years where the score would have actually been closer if the quarterback had taken a knee on every snap. Sure, it would have eliminated a couple of token second half touchdowns, but the time taken off the clock would have meant less time for the other team to keep scoring. I want an offense which actually can do enough to win a game. Here's a question. In the OOC victories during the Dickey era, which ones had all the North Texas touchdowns scored by the offense? Look into that and you'll see how often we relied on defense and special teams to make the margin of victory.
