  1. Plumm has resurrected. Is this a Festivus miracle, or another clue in the Plumminci Code? Welcome back Plumm. People are probably already assigning numerical values to the letters in that latest post trying to decypher the encrypted messages.
  2. Good idea. Maybe the light operator could practice by shining a spotlight on whoever is speaking at the podium during the football banquet. Then again, having the speeches and awards done in the shadows has become kind of a tradition.
  3. No, not necessarily. Jeff is not the Special Teams Coach, he's the Assistant Special Teams Coach. The money may be similar, and his friends and family are back here in Texas where there is no state income tax. He could be an excellent Linebackers Coach / Recruiting Coordinator in Texas. His unique assets (recruiting contacts) aren't of any value in his current position.
  4. Hi there. Jeff Rodgers San Francisco 49ers - Assistant Special Teams Jeff Rodgers enters his third season as the 49ers assistant special teams coach. Rodgers previously served two seasons as the special teams quality control coach in San Francisco. In 2007, Rodgers joins forces with newly appointed Special Teams Coordinator Al Everest. Last season, the 49ers special teams unit was led by K Joe Nedney, who successfully converted three onsides tries and is now five-for-seven with the 49ers. Nedney also led the team in points with 116, the second-highest total of his career. In the return game, Maurice Hicks surpassed the franchise record for total kickoff returns (57) and kickoff return yards (1,428) and also led the unit in tackles with 20. In the punting game, P Andy Lee set career highs in punting average (44.8), net punting average (36.8) and punted for more than 3,500 yards for the third time in his NFL career. In 2005, Nedney connected on 26-of-28 field goals and was NFC Special Teams Player of Week after his five field goal performance against Tampa Bay. The 49ers special teams performed well as a unit, finishing third in kickoff coverage in 2005. Rodgers joined the 49ers staff from the University of Arizona, where he spent two seasons as a graduate assistant on defense, working with the secondary in 2001 and the flex linebackers in 2002. He played four seasons at linebacker for the University of North Texas. While at North Texas, Rodgers earned his degree in business, specializing in entrepreneurship and strategic management in 2000. Rodgers prepped at Westlake High School in Austin, TX but was born in St. Paul, MN. Rodgers is single and resides in Santa Clara, CA. 5. SMU only scored 9 baskets against Prairie View earlier this season. Unfortunately for Prairie View, CUSA referees were officiating the game.
  6. If he comes back to Texas, it will be to whoever offers him the best contract. We are offering him because we are familiar with him and know his capabilities.
  7. There were few restrictions still in place during the Phil Bennet era, now there are none. All SMU requires now is the NCAA minimum, nothing more. That's not saying that SMU will recruit LSU type players that require subtitles when they speak, but June Jones will not be challenged by any elevated requirements. SMU now requires NCAA minimum, nothing more. I believe it's in his agreement.
  8. I don't know what staffing levels are allowed by NCAA rules, but I would also like to see former North Texas linebacker Jeff Rodgers return. Rodgers was an All Conference linebacker under Gary Deloach at North Texas and has coached with linebackers and special teams at the University of Arizona and currently for the San Francisco 49ers. Rodgers, who played for Elizabeth Dodge's father at Austin Westlake, was an honor roll student throughout his college career. Oh, and Jeff's father Randy Rodgers is also the premeir recruiting analyst for the state of Texas. He covers college football recruiting for Texas Football magazine and has extended insight through his numerous contacts. 9. You're all different. You're all individuals.
  10. Others are aware of the Plumminci Code; I got this insightful review from Science Fiction Reader:
  11. I got this off the archives of the now defunct Mean and Green Board. Perhaps the code has something to do with the mystical origins of Fouts Field. Historians can only trace it back to it's discovery by Spanish Conquistidors but archiologists claim it predates that by many thousand years. Deep, are you sure that we should encourage fans to research the code? It could be very dangerous. Should obsevations of code events even be shared?
  12. Britney used to be normal...Then that K Fed guy dared her to try to read all the way through one of Plumm's posts. She now requires medication and shock therapy. Rumor has it that Plumm is not only the father of both of Britney's babies but also fathered Anna Nichole's. There are thousand's of hints and subliminal messages encoded in Plumm's postings. They are called the Plumminci Code. Hippies have been known to consume halucenagenic substances to further decipher the messages, and much of the polychromatic text is read backwards in the form of a mantra chant. Does Hellsbells signify some kind of apocalyptic end to civilization? Does prime real estate signify a nirvana in the afterlife? Does descendants of Quannah refer to an Indian or to Satan? Who alive can answer these questions?
  13. No, nothing like that. From reading his many posts it's very clear that Plumm is committed to facilities, and if there ever was someone that should be committed to a facility, it's Plumm.
  14. Congratulations to SMU for making what seems to be an excellent hire.
  15. Maybe the nice men in the white coats took away his computer privileges.
  16. Poor SMU is right. I have never seen a fan base get it's chain yanked so many times and suffer so many letdowns as those people have been through this year. June Jones has the ability to revive their program. Hopefully this works out for them.
  17. I hate to see any school lose it's coach because somebody is able to outspend them, but it's the nature of the business. Southlake wasn't exactly anxious to lose Todd Dodge either when we hired him. That being said, I hope Jones comes to SMU. Any improvement for TCU and SMU ultimately benefits us if we also significantly improve our own product. Whether it's a concious effort or not, the Big 12 is taking the media attention away (and revenue producing games) from the metroplex colleges through the neutral site games played here. There will probably be no more home games hosting OU, OSU, Tech, Arkansas, Texas, and A&M. None of the metroplex schools have conference rivals which regularly spark the interest of fans in this market. CUSA and the Mountain West each have some prominent programs but nobody other than BYU has a significantly large local following. SMU, TCU, and North Texas will all benefit if all three schools have successful programs and play each other annually. These games could hopefully produce enough gate to eliminate the temptation for scheduling 'guarantee' games at the BCS schools. Tobacco Road rivalries weren't formed by those close schools having bad basketball programs. I hope it's time for the three D/FW colleges to take our home back. TCU and North Texas both have our chosen leaders and I hope SMU quickly gets theirs.
  18. I share your sentiments. I would be pleased to have either coach.
  19. How can Petrino be considered any douchier than Todd Graham?
  20. No, I figure that vacancy will happen because of health concerns. Have you seen that man? Have you witnessed his tantrums? ...tic..tic...tic....
  21. I though June Jones was likely their target since the Paul Johnson rejection. Hopefully this will happen for SMU. Jones has an exciting product and has proven that he can build a winner where several predacessors have failed miserably. The deal may have already been done. SMU's next option had seemed to have been Francione; a coach that I really like, but one that A&M just fired for NCAA rules violations involving improper communications with overzealous boosters. The press would have a feeding frenzy if their anointed Death Penalty University partnered with a coach that just got fired under those circumstances. Coach Fran does deserve another chance, but he should wait a couple of years and do it in some place other than Texas. Kansas and Kansas State may both be looking for coaches within the next couple of years and attempts at rebuilding a down program may ruin his chances at landing either job.
  22. Arkansas officials are looking into allegations that an agent helped star running back Darren McFadden purchase a Cadillac Escalade and then had the vehicle put in his mother's name. Arkansas compliance director Marvin Caston said he heard rumors late Thursday afternoon about the possible NCAA violation involving McFadden. But the agent at the center of the allegations, former Arkansas track and field star Mike Conley, strongly denied TV reports claiming he helped McFadden purchase the vehicle. "I got a call and was told that somebody is saying I walked into a dealership in Fayetteville with Darren and helped him purchase a car," Conley said Thursday night. "I haven't been in Fayetteville in a while, and I certainly haven't been in any car dealerships with Darren McFadden." – Springdale Morning News
  23. Hey, man, you don't talk to Adler. You listen to him. The man's enlarged my mind. He's a poet-warrior in the classic sense. I mean sometimes he'll... uh... well, you'll say "hello" to him, right? And he'll just walk right by you. He won't even notice you. And suddenly he'll grab you, and he'll throw you in a corner, and he'll say, "do you know that 'if' is the middle word in life? If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you can trust yourself when all men doubt you"... I mean I'm no, I can't... I'm a little man, I'm a little man, he's... he's a great man. I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across floors of silent seas... This paraphrases all that is written by the surprised individuals in this thread.
  24. I think Johnny placed him in a juco to get his academic progress in order. He may be back in Fall 2008.
  25. Wasn't this a Helwig agreement that sadly has been inherited by the current leadership? Can the contract be cancelled wihout significant financial loss? Do any schools pursue merchandising independant of the collegiate marketing companies? If so, which ones, and how well are they doing?
