  1. I actually think that she handled that quite well. It's not her job to screen the callers, and she didn't say a single thing that I thought was embarrassing.
  2. I enjoyed it.
  3. That's not the way I see it. Brett has the ability to be a very good reporter but there is something holding him back from reaching his potential. It appears to be a rift that developed between him and Coach Dodge early in Dodge's time at North Texas. I can't even speculate on what caused the animosity between them, I've met both people and both seem very reasonable. The results of the rift is that Brett, from what has been reported on this board, has been excluded by Dodge from access that he enjoyed during the Dickey years, and that favoritism has been shown to his FWST competition, and Brett in turn has tried to portray Todd Dodge and the North Texas football program in a negative light. OK, so are they are both trying to accelerate each others termination? Why? Wouldn't each be better at performing his job if they both would just end this petty little battle?
  4. I may be wrong, but it appears to me that the Denton business community now supports the North Texas athletic programs more than they have in the past thirty years. It's still a work in progress, but it is getting better.
  5. That was the story as released in the Denton Record-Chronicle which has a circulation of something like 2000 subscribers. The game report in the Dallas Morning News also chronicled the drug tests but didn't even mention Cam Montgomery who finished with a career high 130 rushing yards in the victory. But then again, maybe Cam's exploits weren't really relevant to the story. Would one of the vitto dittos please explain this.
  6. What????? Don't any of you remember all the slow death games with 5 or 6 first downs, waiting until the final second every play to snap the ball, and all those damn delay of game penalties? Gawd, it was BORING. If someone doubts me, please try to find any coach that had more games of 12 or fewer first downs in his career. I know we have some board members with endless time to research this kind of stuff, maybe they'll be able to prove me wrong. The defense still needs to be built and the special teams require a complete overhaul, but even though it still needs work, the offensive philosophy is the best that we have had in a long time.
  7. Speaking of Frenchy... Twice I have taken my children to DFW Airport to greet the troops returning from the war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both times, the person organizing the greeting, handing out flags and posters, was our own beloved Frenchy.
  8. Well, a certain poster doesn't acknowledge any college football that occurred pre-Darrell Dickey, post-Darrell Dickey, or wasn't coached by someone named Darrell Dickey. Yet, he insists for some reason to harp on "the irrelevance of easy wins over d1aa/fcs D1/FBS transitional teams." Someone may inform him that his hero was 0 and 4 against these easy d1aa/fcs D1/FBS transitional teams; with disappointing losses to Troy, FAU, and to USF twice. So, in the actual version of modern football history, there really are alternatives worse than winning against these d1aa/fcs D1/FBS transitional teams.
  9. Didn't Snyder go 1 and 10 his first year at Kansas State with his only win being over a Division 1AA opponent on a last second pass? Didn't he know that gives him only something like a one in a gazillion chance of having a successful career? Even through his second season he had only won 2 games against other future BCS teams (Oklahoma State and Iowa State) and the remaining victories were canned hunt home games against lower competition (New Mexico, New Mexico State, and Western Illinois). What? Snyder is now in the Kansas State Hall of Fame and the Kansas State University stadium is named after him?
  10. WKU is already at their full FBS scholarship allotment, their coach stated that during a prerecorded interview during the game. They are a FBS independent team this year completing their transition year in which they are not eligible for postseason play.
  11. Thanks, and "Don't Stop Bo Levi'n" in your Ponies.
  12. Actually Western Kentucky is already at the full Division 1A scholarship allotment. They are not full football members of the Sun Belt or eligible for the conference football championship until next year.
  13. Yeah, and I'm sure the WKU basketball fans are still feeling bad after their team stole a victory over North Texas a couple of years ago after not leading a single second during the game. What a fun win, not quite the crazy 2001 NMSU game, but very exciting.
  14. BECAUSE WE'VE ALREADY WON! (And we were already out of TO's before the last WKU drive.)
