I am not overly concerned with which players start. This whole roster is extremely talented and will be a one-two punch to the opponent when the non-starters enter the game.

There's another D1 school in Texas that hasn't released its schedule. Coincidence, I think not. This other Texas school was was looking for a home and home starting on the road this season. They then added the stipulation that it would only be a road game if it were at a BCS AQ school (basketball BCS AQ?). The terror caused by the thought of getting destroyed at North Texas caused their team to mutiny and the coach to commit himself to the looney bin and quit.

I have never purchased tickets through StubHub, but they are advertising discounted tickets for the North Texas game. http://www.stubhub.c...6-2012-4081385/ Discount tickets and parking passes are also being sold through Ticket Liquidator http://www.ticketliq...x?evtid=1886486 VividSeats http://www.vividseats.com/ncaaf/houston-cougars-tickets/houston-vs-north-texas-10-6-1285764.html

I'm with Baby Arm on this. Make this an annual rivalry, and even try to schedule the road games at Texas State during Wurstfest. I would go so far as for each college to include free admission for students of the visiting school. That would boost attendance, still make money from parking and concessions, and forge a stronger school unity as the students travel to support their schools.

And I thought it was going to be the basketball schedule.

I too appreciate the student involvement, because, well, it could be much much worse. Home opener, perfect weather, the officially reported pretendance at SMU was in excess of 20,000. There must have been a lot of people in the bathrooms.

That's how I felt as well. The Ocean was a nice change of pace and very entertaining. I am already looking forward to The MOB coming to North Texas every other year.

Thanks so much for the report Sparkmank, Like everybody else I am excited to hear about the advancements that our younger players are making, but I especially am grateful to you for reporting on those outstanding upperclassmen that, though sometimes overlooked, are going to be so heavily relied upon this coming season. Cmon Tech, don't be such Panty Wastes! Look, you need a road game for December 3 or 4 and North Texas needs a home game for that time and will travel to Lubbock next year. Accept the challenge and don't be such chicken____s!

So, that's why Lance's knees didn't touch the ground, and probably why the referee that made the call didn't elaborate.

The problem with moving the game to Shreveport is that it is the primary destination point up I-49 for Louisianans on the Storm Evacuation Route. Shreveport (which may also receive heavy flooding) could be filled next weekend with storm refugees as this storm is predicted to possibly blast along the La-Tex border. Many of them may not be cleared to return to coastal regions for several days. Here's a current forecast model Wednesday:Noon

Frogs, locusts, fire, and brimstone seem a little outdated.......maybe some divine being is using tropical storms to tell LSU to move these games to North Texas. There may be no electricity in Baton Rouge this weekend and the city may be in full recovery mode. Should this week's game be moved to North Texas if it cannot be played in Baton Rouge and another suitable weekend cannot be scheduled?

Gawd, the September 11, 1999 LSU game and the damn telephone. I am shocked that anybody else remembers that fiasco. -
OFFICIAL UNT vs. LSU GAME-WATCHING LOCATIONS THREAD
ADLER replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I too will be bringing a few to the LSU game. This will be my first time seated in the end zone amongst all those wonderful, well behaved, educated, LSU students. -
I saw this picture posted in the Gallery Images at the top of the Forum section. It is listed as a crowd shot from a North Texas football game in 1998. What's amazing is how little green North Texas gear is worn by fans as compared to recent seasons. School spirit just wasn't what it is today as the few North Texas shirts visible are being worn by the soccer team. Thank You to Rick Villarreal and your staff. ps - I was on the other side of the stadium, and wearing green of course, but that won't stop that OSFA blond in light purple from spending cyber-eternity searching this crowd for me.

Marquette fires assistant coach , Buzz suspended
ADLER replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Marquette assistant coach Scott Monarch gave a Marquette recruit apparel and also drove him home, which have been deemed as secondary violations. The violations were very minor and did not involve a former Marquette assistant coach that is currently coaching in Denton. -
Kicked off the end of summer watching Brian's Song with the kid

Probably the most acclaimed made-for-television movie ever. Over 40 years later and I still occasionally use the 'how's your mother' quote.- 1 reply

Basketball Facilities Campaign Exceeds Goal
ADLER replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I would sure love to see something similar to the 30-foot wide and 15-foot tall video board CUSA conference mate Tulsa installed in the Reynolds Center last season: -
So, this was posted very late last night. This must be one of our exhibitionist games.

http://www.basketbal...board/?e_type=1 Does anyone else see a possible solution for both these teams?

West Nile
ADLER replied to UNTstormchaser's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Contrary to the blatant stupidity broadcast daily in the news, mosquitoes very seldom grow in places where there are fish, especially the guppy 'minnows', which are descendants from fish imported from Central America a century ago for this very reason. These guppies efficiently eradicate any mosquito larva population to which they have access. Mosquito larva grow in small places where water accumulates and fish cannot reach; discarded cups and other trash, housing roof gutters, puddles in drain pipes etc, and even in untended pools. Yet, every night the news continues to show pictures of flowing streams and duck ponds as 'prime breeding grounds' to target for poisoning. Kill the guppies in those waters and then you really will have a serious mosquito problem. -
300lb 12 Year Old Denied By Mesquite Pee Wee League.
ADLER replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Then you should put your child in a private league where they have weight restrictions on players, and not in a public league where weight restrictions don't exist. Wait, that's already the case, and this whole deal is just grandstanding by a family looking for a lawsuit and a coach pushing for an unfair advantage? Solution: terminate the coach and tell the kid to play in the public league. Case closed. -
I stopped by the practice facility today and watched some of the scrimmage from outside the fence. The dorm side is shaded by some trees and you can easily watch the scrimmages over the top of the fence. It would actually be a nice place to bring an ice chest and set up a canopy and chairs. But, that being said, future scrimmages may be held inside Apogee outside public view.

And, according to this from NBC Sports, St Joseph's is expected to be pretty darn good:
