Anyone want to put this idiot in his place?
ADLER replied to James329's topic in Mean Green Football
People like him are the reason that they named the state IOWA, an abbreviation for Idiots Out Walking Around. And by his confused logic, the "Hawkeyes" moniker was lifted from a 1970 film, but only after it narrowly edged out "Hotlips", "Radars", and "Spearchuckers". . -
This season, even with its easier schedule still looks like it will be a challenge.

http://sports.newsday.com/long-island/data/college/college-football/coaches-salaries/willie-fritz/ He does have a very impressive resume and will keep piling on winning seasons at Georgia Southern. At 400K guaranteed annually how much would it take for another school, especially one with a tradition of "not winning so much" to lure him away? He may be waiting on a Hugh Freeze type call from an SEC / ACC school and unwilling to take that kind of risk. And no, I am not on the Fire Mac bandwagon. I believe he has the ability to be an excellent coach. I really just want this quarterback folly over with.

I am extremely proud of our ladies. After a tough game on Friday, they went on the road without the services of their leading scorer to face the #5 team in the nation, Texas A&M. The UNT ladies played very well and almost came away with a victory. Great job. We are all very proud of you.
-
The clock kept mysteriously stopping as time was running out on the Aggys. The refs finally stopped play to address the issue but decided to not make any corrections to the game clock. A&M scored with 1 minute and 5 seconds left in a 100 minute contest.
-
Goal by Aggys with 1:05 remaining. North Texas had the #5 team in the nation on the ropes. Great job ladies, and congrats to a very officially fortunate A&M.

Going to second sudden death overtime
-
Physical yes, but the refs are giving out yellow cards to UNT players like Halloween candy. The announcers think it may be a record. A&M players flop a lot and the refs always give them the benefit of the doubt. Second overtime about to start. Sudden death. Game ends in tie if nobody scores in ten minute overtime period.

Tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. Heading into overtime.
-
UNT maintaining 1-0 lead with 20 minutes remaining in game. Aggys score with 19:04 left. 1-1
-
UNT takes the lead! Scores at the opening of second half. 1-0
-
Watching it on ESPN.GO.COM Tied at 0 at the end of the first half. 9 shots on goal for Aggys and 3 for us. http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_/id/2636110/launchPlayer/true

Kenny Buyers is injured and hopefully will take a medical hardship year to save his last year of eligibility for a season that matters. Iowa is our third game and the last that a medical hardship year can declared without special clearance from the NCAA. It would be nice if a couple other valuable senior starters were to receive very minor injuries that make them eligible for a fifth season in 2016.

I know, take off the tin foil hat, but...

Thanks for the clarification. I believe this folly will end after mini has had the opportunity to open against Iowa. The 2015 UNT football season should start sometime during the second half of that game. The 2015 season will already have been wasted but we'll at least witness building for the 2016 season. -
Who? Please explain.

Are you inferring that they have comparable talent just because they graduated high school he same year. Many experts have disagreed. Many of the top football schools in the nation pursued one of them. Those football programs are successful because their recruiting staffs know what they are doing. The other wouldn't have had a single scholarship offer from any program if his dad wasn't close friends with a certain coach. -

https://rivals.yahoo.com/fiu/football/recruiting/player-DaMarcus-Smith-94229 Wow, I knew he was older, but I didn't realize he was class of 2011, and that's quite an offer list he had. I have also seen his very impressive stats from high school and junior college. It is disappointing that our playbook is so incredibly complex that it cannot be adapted to the talent on our team. -
Someone told me this offense would be different
ADLER replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
Hey, we did have 120 yards passing. If it weren't for the interceptions and multiple near interceptions that wouldn't be half bad if it was a third grade game. -
During McNulty's first four years he's thrown 11 touchdown passes: six were to his own team and five have been to the opposition. What again is Einstein's definition of insanity? Seriously, last years UT game was a wake-up call of biblical proportions that North Texas doesn't have anybody capable of playing quarterback at the college level. The Mean Green then pitifully limped through the 2014 season, losing in embarrassing fashion to teams that they had destroyed the previous season. The North Texas coaching staff has had a full year to address the glaring deficiency. How was it fixed? It wasn't.
