  1. OK...maybe I'm blind. I looked at the list in yesterday's PARADE magazine and didn't see Riley listed. This morning I went here: http://www.parade.com/all-america/list.html ...and I still don't see Riley's name.
  2. I nominate Jamario Thomas for the Beasley Reece award.
  3. I have to say it...I have faith in Coach Dodge and I don't want to say anything disparaging, but I was disappointed that Jamario didn't win an award this evening at the football banquet.
  4. I am not privileged to know JaMario personally, but he has been my favorite UNT football player for four years; as much because of his reputation for being a fine person and a hard-working student and athlete, as because of anything he has done on the football field. Good luck, JaMario, with wherever life takes you!
  5. With a new stadium prices will triple...or more. Fouts Field is looking better.
  6. "because from what i have heard he could care less about football" Regardless of whether he is interested in playing professionally or not that was an unfair statement, given the enormous contribution he made during the past four years. He certainly demonstrated a commitment to Mean Green football.
  7. I believe there was a young man recruited by Darrell Dickey whose scholarship was not honored last year. That bothered me a great deal.
  8. nautique....I got that straight from a friend who is close to Gerald Myers, their athletic director.
  9. Tech had decided not to schedule us because we beat them twice in recent history, which they consider embarrassing.
  10. I cannot believe that an architectural firm with any integrity would automatically use someone else's model, rather than designing their own. I'll bet there will be a good architect selected by the university that will come up with something different, and probably better.
  11. From Graham, TX Leader (local newspaper): Load 'em up ! Steers dominate all district Tuesday, December 11, 2007 Clay Stewart As usual, the top three teams in District 6-3A dominated the all-district selections as Vernon, Graham and Burkburnett each placed a number of players on the teams released Monday. “The three playoff teams dominated the selections,” said Graham coach Brad McCoy. “That’s really the way it should be.” Running back Jake Holub was named Offensive Most Valuable Player for the district, while Trevor Sparks was the Defensive MVP. While a case could be made for either of them as the overall most valuable player, the district champion Vernon Lions provided that. Quarterback Darien Williams won the award while leading the Lions to the state semi final game.
  12. Thank you!!
  13. I've been watching the board since Wednesday, and no one has said that anyone has actually signed. Information, please.
  14. Did anyone sign???
  15. Williams is a quarterback who was recruited to play safety, too. Several of those...
  16. Snyder 36 Vernon 21 Darien ran for two scores and passed for the other one.
  17. I was pleased with Western Kentucky, but FIU was unwatchable....even before we lost the feed around the end of the first quarter. Do we have to individually call SBC, or will the university see to it that we are not charged?
  18. Bundy and any other Mean Green fan who is interested: Vernon (now 12-1) will meet Snyder (11-2) at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene, 7:30 PM Friday, Dec. 7. Darien Williams, recruited by NT at safety, will be at quarterback.
  19. Jamario....You will always be special to us, regardless of how your final game against FIU turns out. GMG!!!
  20. Frankly, Fouts Field looks so much better with the new paint job and the bathroom upgrades that I am not in as big a hurry to move as I once was.
  21. Darrien Williams prefers to play safety, and he was a safety as a junior. He stepped in and took over quarterback duties early this year, quite successfully. They are currently 11-1.
  22. Darien Williams is another quarterback who was recruited as a safety.
  23. Bundy....Here is your info: Seminole (8-4) vs. Vernon (11-1) Saturday 4:00 pm (Tentative), Mustang Bowl, Sweetwater, Texas. Not close to the metroplex, but maybe the next round will be closer.
