Again, the pAc was not offering AAC schools to pay their full buyout like they did the MWC schools. Why take that deal? So if we knew that was the case then glad we didn’t drag it out. It would have been a no-brainer to pass.

Yes. 2017, 2018, and a bit of 2022. Lots of wins against teams we should beat and very few (none?) against solid teams and/or big games. So far, we were completely blown out in the most significant game of the year. I certainly hope it doesn’t happen again, but the heart of the schedule - especially versus Army - has that potential. Let’s see if this defense has started to really turn around or if the recent results are due to subpar opponents. The defense, as we all know, will determine the season.

Good win, happy for the team. Would not expected this outcome after that terrible start. As the great @MeanGreenWithEnvy said “This is the most un 4-1 team I could imagine for this season. They’re mercurial.” Perfectly sums up how I think about this team. My best guess is that we will beat the weaker teams on the schedule but we make too many mistakes to beat the better teams in the conference. Could easily end up 8-4 and then end up losing a bowl game to a strong opponent. (wait a sec…that sounds really familiar…)

Decouple the score from the stats for a moment. 5 yrds a rush isn’t good defense. Morris was not terribly efficient for half of the game and much of that was due to the OL not protecting him. Running game was not good. Still way too many penalties to be a contender. Not trying to poop on the win but objectivity isn’t a bad thing.

I think we should pull all starters on both sides of the ball. We never do but we should. Not worth the rush at this point.

Because our offense has been inconsistent and the running game was almost nonexistent. That means the defense had to be perfect to keep us in the game. It wasn’t but it got lucky enough with an inferior opponent. ST was a huge help.

No idea why we didn’t apply pressure on that last punt. Ended up with it on the 1.

Hard to argue based on points. More worried about what it means against quality opponents. Tulsa is shit.

It’s been shaky. They are on pace for 250 rush yards. That’s not good. Conversely our ground game is garbage. No sustained drives. ST has been good thankfully.

Overall, the defense is still shit. A below average Tulsa team has run all over us. Our running game is atrocious. 16 yards in the half.
