I ate at Goodcents, Chopsticks, the Tomato, Sukkho Thai, Mazatlan, Metzlers, and a number of other places. Had prob the most meals at Cool Beans or Riprocks. What I find interesting about this thread is that most of the places we find “iconic” for UNT don’t exist any longer; therefore, by definition they are not iconic. I would say Rooster’s or something like that would likely hold that title.

In the lawsuit, which describes a “culture of sexual violence” within the program that was allowed to go unchecked, the younger Briles allegedly told a Dallas-area high school athlete “Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at Baylor and they love football players.” Culture matters.

And who is going to “enforce” this agreement? No one.

Frisco is not a separate university, just another place to take classes at UNT.

Part of what DID lead to crimes was the culture around the program. He contributed to that culture.

Briles Jr was particularly gross with his recruiting techniques.

At LB keep in mind that we don’t know if we need another true LB or if it will be a hybrid pass rusher like in the last defensive scheme. If we have three true LBs, that makes us a little thin there. Wood and Brown are solid and experienced but we recruited that third LB spot to be an edge rusher primarily who had some LB responsibility.

I believe the original issue was video games using player names/likeness and the players getting nothing but the schools getting money for it. So yes, I would argue the intent was for a player to be allowed to make money from things like trading cards or photo shoots, perhaps even commercials. But what it became - and never should have been - was a Wild West of schools collaborating with businesses or alumni groups to recruit players based off what they can get paid.

I think he means the A&M transfer or the Purdue transfer.

No problem with a player seeking and finding a “better” opportunity for himself. I do have a problem with a P5 poaching our player. No way it’s a coincidence Gaddie randomly enters the portal two days before it closes and immediately is with Ole Miss. Obviously a case of tampering.

I think we are all justifiably terrified of what might happen on D. We are losing some key guys from a terrible defense and the replacements aren’t overwhelming. The defensive coaches are woefully inexperienced and we didn’t bring in an experienced DC to lead them. I am particularly worried about the secondary, as Jennings wasn’t impressive the first time here and the CB coach is the DC who will be busy designing a new defensive scheme. Not to mention we might lose our best CB with no current replacement or obvious depth.

Should be 3-1 in OOC games and three very winnable games in conference. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see us make a bowl but not sure that means anything has really changed.

One has to think someone reached out with an offer before he entered the portal. No other reason to enter now just two days before the transfer window closes. I am expecting another announcement.
