    No college DC experience is troubling, and I am concerned that he hasn’t recruited to non-P5 programs. I hoped for an experienced DC to balance out all the youth on this staff. Honestly this seems like an underwhelming hire.

    I would caveat this to say that if they are underclassmen like Enoch Jackson then you probably have better odds. Someone who never played regularly transferring after 3-4 years definitely seems like a risk.

    Roberts, Aberding gone and the TE commit gone. You have insinuated that some transfers and de-commits are likely head coach driven so we can guess that TE isn’t as important - especially since all traditional TEs are gone and we have a couple H-backs left. So why hire a TE coach (unless it’s a HS recruiting connection thing and they won’t really coach much)?

    I would add that Davis from TxTech was supposed to be our starting CB this year as was the CB from Purdue who opted out 2020. Bush has been injured so not sure how to evaluate him. Terrell was competent WR we got from UT but did not meet expectations (although still a good ambassador for UNT). Agreed that the recent lower level transfers have been pretty good.

    Harrell had one year as a position coach and perhaps another as an analyst, if I am remembering correctly.

    I agree, at least up until the last couple years. This year they did a good job of utilizing the talent we have at TE, as evidenced by two all-conference TEs.

    A question for @TheReal_jayDor @aztecskin: Do you have a feel for how much Morris utilizes his TEs? I feel like we have been very effective lately using the TE but Seth was a long time in getting there. We have (had?) a pretty deep TE group and were recruiting more despite them all being pretty young. Is Alberding leaving and this de-commitment a possible sign Morris doesn’t plan to carry a bunch of TEs like Seth did the last two years? Or a perhaps that he prefers the Gumms type super athletic type TE?
