Should be 3-1 in OOC games and three very winnable games in conference. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see us make a bowl but not sure that means anything has really changed.

One has to think someone reached out with an offer before he entered the portal. No other reason to enter now just two days before the transfer window closes. I am expecting another announcement.

Memphis for sure and probably first UTSA game. One could also for a couple other, such as UAB since we were leading at the half.

He tended to lock in on one guy and never give backups meaningful minutes, even in a blowout. But he did try out different guys to get to that point, if you recall. Morris first, then locked in on Fine. 2020 he rotated Bean and Aune. 2021 tried to go with Ruder but settled on Fine.

Agree that this isn’t currently a championship or tournament team. Offense isn’t good enough.

Should we assume we are losing a lot on the OL?

In his film it looks like a “man against boys” situation so it’s difficult to judge him but he was definitely by far the best player on the field. Not sure where would be best to play him. Seems to have pretty good hands but also seems to like to hit and looked comfortable out there as a centerfielder.

Looks like Coach Gary is down in Mansfield today.

Well Rodgers reportedly had an atrocious OL and subpar WRs, so I think that 67 percent completion rate is going to go pretty far here.

From his high school days: DE Alonzo Hall (6-5, 240) – Reseda High School, Reseda Although rated as California’s 100th best player in the 2019 class per 247Sports, one can argue Alonzo Hall has been sorely undervalued. The San Fernando Valley area talent jumped onto the recruiting scene during the spring evaluation period working his way to 11 offers. Some of the offering teams includes Iowa State, Arizona State, Louisville, UNLV, and Fresno State. During his senior season, Hall moonlighted on offense at tight end taking in 13 passes for 226 yards with a score but was an unstoppable force on defense off the edge. He finished the year with team-highs in tackles (67), tackles for a loss (26), sacks, (15.5), and QB hurries (16). His size, strength, speed, and long arms are hard to come by for ends. And he isn’t a junior/senior who couldn’t break into the 2-deep.

We used to do that here now and again. Maybe time to revive that.

I love Trice and think he should be on our coaching staff but as good as he was in 2013, he really struggled in 2012. So I am not willing to name him king transfer based on one year. Our luck with transfer seems to have been unreasonably bad in general, but we had a few recent good ones in addition to Trice that have been mentioned already. Unfortunately seems to be a longer list of busts, non-factors, or just not quite meeting expectations.

Not sure how we would not want to keep him unless there was a discipline issue (maybe not off field issue but maybe work ethic?). We are currently offering WRs so we need them, especially since it seems like we are ditching all our traditional TEs.
