  1. But that’s the problem, ain’t it?
  2. This was an unexplainable call and simply stupid. You don’t go for two when you don’t even need it.
  3. Even if a miracle happens, this game was a disgrace
  4. Hot garbage. We still likely go 7-5 or even 8-4 and that will be fine for most fans and definitely for the administration. But we traded Littrell for peppy Littrell.
  5. Typical unprepared Morris team in a big game. Offense struggles against any defense with a pulse to start the game and defense looks like it can’t stop a toddler. Hot garbage. #fireCaponi
  6. Based on the box score, I see a lot of backups in the defensive stats. Several starters still out?
  7. Speaking of:
  8. If we can’t and he does (also my prediction), then we likely lose the game.
  9. I have said this elsewhere, but I could understand the (over)confidence in the offense more if we had a stable offensive line, our top three RBs, and our starting TE and Ward at WR in the game. As it is, we struggle to run the ball and Morris often has to scramble and we have a couple of inconsistent receivers. So you punt the damn ball.
  10. Meager had 600 yards passing vs SMUt that year.
  11. You were the most recent in the thread. Sorry?
  12. Settle down, drama queen. No one is saying to not support the team or the university. God forbid a fan have a realistic outlook on this squad and not only think that we are the greatest team of all time. 🙄 Morris might figure it out in time but the stats and the history so far don’t support that optimism. I WANT us to win out but Morris hasn’t give me a reason to believe it possible. Plus 27 years of being beat down as a fan here doesn’t help. So spare me with the t-shirt fan “suggestion” and get off your high horse.
  13. These two issues are very much related.
  14. No one will watch us on TV so ESPN and any bowl out of DFW won’t be excited to have us, so they are likely to try to position us to get butts in seats. 2013 was a good example of how we can turn out locally.
  15. Thanks for asking. I have said why but across multiple threads so I guess I will try to sum up succinctly. 1) I thought we could do better with the money we had available and preferred a more experienced coach. Either a former FBS HC or a coach with more HC experience or greater lower level success. Many of the most successful FCS call up coaches have had real hardware before getting the call. 2) Caponi. We greatly overpaid for a guy with one or two years as a DC at D3 (iirc). We easily could have gotten someone with real DC experience if we were going to pay the most of G5 schools. Obviously the 3-3-5 didn’t work here but perhaps an experienced coordinator would have recognized that earlier. 3) Morris is the HC and OC. The HC should largely be a CEO (although clearly not in the Charlotte sense of it) not a play caller, in my opinion. He should be managing the entire team and game, not trying to figure out why that second down call didn’t work. Might have more ability and time to work on the defensive struggles. 4) Morris as OC is too aggressive for me. Going for it on fourth in our own territory with this defense is insane to me. I get that he does it because he doesn’t believe in his defense (see point two) but give the shitty defense 80 yards to defend and not 40, ffs. I know the defense sucks so he is thinking to try to strike and score more, but the offensive side of the ball is constantly crippled with injuries. Why do we think a patchwork OL and fourth string RBs and second/third string WRs and TEs give us a better chance? You punt that ball every time, sorry. The hurry up tempo BS is not effective. The few times we get a positive result from that is outweighed by the lack of rest for our exhausted, shitty defense. We don’t have the defense that can ensure this all game, especially with the injuries. Again, a thing a HC should be reigning in an aggressive OC. But they are the same person, so… Hope those reasons are clear. I don’t claim to be a guru or have all the answers. Just my personal opinion based on my observations. Some of these things are just preference or gut feelings. But that’s how we as humans generally make our decisions, right? (on a side note, why do we have so many injuries?)
  16. maybe you are doing a great straight man routine?
  17. Still more prestigious than ULM credits!
  18. Rod. Period. Still often gets pressure with a double team (by design) on every play.
  19. I hope this is a completely tongue in cheek post and you are just trying to make an innocent “woke” joke given the current political climate. If not, you are an asshole. So which is it? To @aztecskin’s point about SEC and other big program fans being all-in, I would comment that in return for that they expect immediate results. Those programs fire coordinators before the end of their first season and head coaches after a year. And the donors fund it. We can’t do that currently, so all we can do is vote with our wallets and feet. Hence the low donation numbers and attendance. If this university ever truly showed a full commitment to athletics, I would guess the money would follow. We have enough total alumni and more wealthy than we know that could do it. But 50 years of half-assed programs won’t convince anyone. Our current DC situation is further proof. That’s why you fire Craponi, not because you expect the defense to miraculously improve.
  20. All of you dum-dums need to work on ignoring that jackass. Please stop giving him the attention he craves, FFS.
  21. They can call me from the special FCS phone.
